I got an Android, but want to go back to the iPhone. Why is this?

Same logic here. The iOS App Store is closed by design, precisely so people can't "accidentally" wander outside and unknowingly do anything that might compromise their phone's security. I say this alone makes the iphone and iPad more secure than android devices, where people still at least have the option of doing so, and consequently, a higher chance Of inadvertently infecting their device somehow.
You know, when put like that it sounds like Apple are treating their users like little children.

Absolutely. They are Angelina Jolie and we're her children. It could be worse.

Thats like saying we don't need laws so long as everyone knows what to do and how to behave. Which we know is not the case, hence the need for laws and law enforcement.

I think this is true.
However,
I see it kinda like having a lock on your cars hood that only the dealer has the key to.
Sure, you cant get in there and take off your oil filter and drive without one [well you can because of oil filter placement but this is just an example analogy], so it protects you from making un-wise choices. However, you also can do the work correctly yourself. Say I have a backup of an app from the android market like say flappy birds and I need to reset my device. Hmm sideloading seems great now. As long as the source of the file os trusted, and I know the app is leget because it originaly came from the google store. But on ios can this be done? Say you upgrade from an iphone 4 to the 5, guess no more game for you?

Many apps are backed up and sync to your new iOS device of the same type. It's nowhere near flawless, but it's one of the things that I hope Android is moving towards (sync for app data they added in 2013 is a huge 1st step).

One great feature of iOS is that you can switch iPhones, restore the new one from a backup(either iTunes or iCloud), and in just a few minutes your new iPhone will be set up exactly as the old one. This is something that I wish Android would adopt, as switching Android phones and getting set up again is a pain.

This is why I love Motorola. When I moved from my RAZR M to my Moto X it was painless because of Motorola Migrate. All my pics, videos, music, hell, everything came over except my text messages.

IMO, that's the way that they should all be.

I hope Lenovo doesn't ruin that company.

Lenovo is a really good company, but when company cultures clash, things have a habit of going into the bucket.

I think they will do the opposite. We might finally see SD back on Moto products now that Google is no longer the boss of them.

And Lenovo has been making good products lately too.

I think that SD should go away. Too many reports of corrupted cards, especially with Samesung. Just make phones a minimum of 32gb.

I only hear this on the web. Out of the many people with android phones with SD card slots. I have never heard of a corrupted card. Hell, I owned several android phones with SD cards and they never got corrupted. I think its a rarity for something like that to happen.

Why does it need to go away? If you are afraid of correupted cards...just don't use one. Why is having the option to use one a bad thing?

Never had a single corrupted card. I am still using the one from my Droid 1.

32gig Samsung phones have been available since forever. And they have SD options as well. "Option" means you can use it if you want to, but are not required to.

Exactly.

And that would really concern me if we did not have so many other options.

HTC and Samsung are Asian though, and did not seem to have a huge problem adapting to the US market.

The Asians have a habit of getting it right. Whether it's electronics or cars they typically offer a high-quality product IME.

Exactly.

And what happens if you don't have a card and your usb port breaks on your device [and you just buy a battery charger and a battery]?

Gonna dropbox that 1gb file to yourself?

I think the option is nice.
I like options.
Same principal as a condom.
I would rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

I just restore app tar files
Or make a cwm app folder batch install zip.

Takes about 5 miniuts for either.
[After having the base cwm zip created which is about another 5 miniuts, and requires little change between devices.]
