I got an Android, but want to go back to the iPhone. Why is this?

Oh that guy again.... he looks like a troll who always replied to particular (iphone) thread. Just look at his posts history. Anyone familiar with his/her act usually ignore him.

You surely added a lot to the conversation.

That's gonna be tough. I'm not sure Apple ever releases sales numbers for individual models.
Then I don't see how the claim can be made that Apple has the best selling smartphone. There does not appear to be any actual data supporting that conclusion.

At one time we probably could have made the assumption that Apple sold the best because the sales figures for every other smartphone were obviously a lot lower. Nowadays, I don't think we can make that assumption anymore. The Galaxy S4 in particular obviously sold very very well.

You're really reaching now.

He has a point. Figures are never released for how many individual iPhones are sold. We see that they are bestsellers or Apple sold this many iPhones but how may iPhone 4s or 4Ss are being sold? How many 5Cs?

I just don't see why anyone cares what phone sells the most. Just use the phone and platform that best suits you. Both Android and iOS are doing just fine, and Windows phone not so much, but choice is the consumers best friend.

Typically iPhone people bring this up when trying to demonstrate why the iPhone is better than Android phones. Since Android crushes iOS in every other metric, this is their go-to statistic to prove iOS still matters.

People voted with their wallets. Thats why Android leads in marketshare and Windows Phone is struggling and Blackberry is virtually dead.

I'm typing this on my LG GPad 8.3 that my son has been using for the past 3 months. I hadn't used android, really, for that long.
It's amazing how quickly you get out of practice with things but I can see why I made the switch away from android. I praised this G Pad 8.3 to the high-hills when I got it last fall, but it seems very laggy now. I interact with it and it pauses, then reacts. Nothing that anyone couldn't deal with but its kinda...I don't know...annoying if you're not used to it. LG did allow me to find a suitable font because the default is, I won't say ugly, I'll just say...different. I'm gonna enjoy having this thing to play with.

Yes, as I've said, with the apps I USE the're better in iOS. Can't even view the security videos in AT&T Digital Life (my security/home automation platform)? Monopoly is slow as @#$%! on the G Pad but fast as heck on my iPads. This is not due to any fault of android its due to lazy developers, period. The Tapatalk app crashes in Android occassionally just like it does in iOS. (shakes head...at developer). Such a nice tablet this is but there are certainly notable differences in the user experience that are not what I would call positive.

Ask the 4 major U.S.carriers. iPhone is their #1 seller 99% of the time, whether it be a 4, 4s, 5, or 5s, depending on the year.
The zero evidence you have posted to support that claim has convinced me.

(Lots of people do not buy phones through the carriers, even assuming your claim is true...lots of them buy phones through 3rd parties like Best Buy or Amazon or Car Toys or whatever)

If I said 'iPhones suck and don't sell so well how many here would be saying, "Source? Where's your evidence to support that claim?"

I probably would. If someone made a ridiculous claim (such as "OMG iPhones are not even in the top 10 anymore") I would call them on it. I've done it before.

A lot of iOS supporters are so used to Apple being on top that they do not even question it. Things have changed a lot in just a few years. Not all of them keep up with the news every month and are probably sincerely not aware of whats changed. Thats why I call them on their sources...I want to know where they are getting their information. A lot of the stuff they assume as "fact" is wrong. (And excellent example is in another thread, where it is assumed that iOS 7.1 is crash and lag free, which is obviously not the case)

Wouldn't you think that those numbers would count, as they are activated on the carriers?

This thread title needs an update... Android sales versus iPhone sales.

S4 is the best selling Android smartphone, and the 5s has nearly doubled S4 sales. I think it is safe.

Now let's be fair. Nothing you've posted so far has substantiated your initial claim of the 5s doubling the sales of the S4. Selling more overall, ok, but not doubling.

I won't say that iOS 7.1 is crash and lag-free. I will say that on my four iBabies it is lag-free from what I can see and the only thing that crashes are errant apps, CNN and Tapatalk (which also crashes on this G Pad 8.3). I haven't received OS crashes in iOS. 7.1 (or on this G Pad today). I'm obviously no genius so I don't know why my experiences are different except that I am not doing any complex gaming on thelse iBabies. Otherwise, I'm consuming content on them constantly. I had no problems in iOS 7.0.x either but many complained of performance issues. None of my iBabies lags like this G Pad 8.3. Click an icon and then, pause, pause, launch. I don't recall it being so noticeable before. I don't recall my G2 or Optimus G Pro acting this way.
