I got an Android, but want to go back to the iPhone. Why is this?

Not sure when you last used an Android phone, but the displays and battery life are unquestionably better than on the iPhone. Cameras are also on par, if not better and the UI is buttery smooth on basically all flagships, maybe with Samsung being the exception

As a matter of fact most of the flagships have higher resolution displays than the iPhone "retina" display. And the SAMOLED screens are so much better than any IPS I have ever seen. The AMOLED screen on my S4 has incredible black levels.

It's very interesting how we adjust. I once thought the iPhone 5/5s' screen was terribly small. Now that I've had one for a couple months most of the time it's absolutely fine and it is still a deliciously beautiful display, even if technically behind android flagships.

I tried using an iPhone in the Verizon store by my house and realized I haven't had a device with a 4 inch or less screen since 2012. I had a Droid Incredible 2 then a Droid RAZR M and now a Moto X. The Moto X is my screen limit. I hope with all my heart, they don't increase the screen size, because then I might have to move platforms to have a screen size I can use in one hand.

And no other screen has the color accuracy of the iPhone, according to most reviewers.

I don't fully trust reviewers. Some are good but, they can be wrong. I doubt anyone though goes into a phone store and is like "This phones screen has better color accuracy than this one." Usually people have a good idea what phone they want when they come into a store.

I'm going to force myself to spend some more time on my GPad 8.3, maybe even root it, it seems like a tablet I should be totally fine with.

"To put this in perspective, in the past few years I've reviewed probably 30-40 different displays, from PC monitors to TVs to projectors. Not a single one, out of the box, can put up the Gretag Macbeth dE numbers that the iPhone can, and perhaps one projector (which listed for $20,000) can approach the grayscale and color accuracy out of the box.

Apple obviously has very high control over what parts they use and what comes off their assembly lines. I don't know if they are having the displays individually adjusted after they are assembled, or if the quality control is very strict, or if I just got a remarkably lucky sample. I do know that if TV and PC Monitor vendors were able to provide displays that looked like this out of the box, professional calibrators would lose a good amount of business. The new panel in the iPhone 5 is simply remarkable in quality and if it were a PC monitor, I'd give it a Gold Award on the basis of its performance".

That is saying a lot.

Since I own and prefer two iPhone 5s' I think that's great but I can also see where people would be more than willing to give up some of the iPhone's delicious display quality to have a larger display. Most android displays are more than good enough for their intended use. I've also read up the street at iMore that the Retina Mini's display leaves some to be desired though I'm exceedingly satisfied with mine.

Good for them. They deserve all the cookies.

In October of 2012 (when they reviewed this) they were largely correct. The Nexus 4 wasn't out yet, nor the Droid DNA (both great displays), and we'd not yet seen the HTC One or LG G Pro 2 yet. I haven't seen their review of the HTC One M8 yet, but I do remember that the Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 5 were their two favorite screens from 2013.

Yeah, my mom has my old iPhone 5 and now that I am used to a 5 inch screen hers looks so tiny. I'm not sure I can go back. The 5 inch screen is very easy to use one handed for me. I would not want to go any bigger.

I'm personally hoping that if Apple does make a larger device, that they aim for the 4.5" to 4.75" range and are not silly enough to keep it the same width. The Moto X is a 4.7" screen and it's a great size/form factor. Apple's transitional dressings on something that size wouldn't look bad nor would it be too much of a departure from what their audience is used to. A 5.5" or 6" iPhone sounds ridiculous to me, but I know there are many people who want to see that happen.
