I got an Android, but want to go back to the iPhone. Why is this?

The Gizmodo article was in June 2013, and included the HTC One. I have owned a DNA, One, and currently have a Nexus 7 2013, and none of them outdo the 5c display that I have in color accuracy. I am speaking from experience on this, not just relying on an article.
But, to each his own. That is what makes the world go round.:)
So what you're saying is that you're determining the color accuracy just by looking at the display?

No different than 99% of reviewers. And it is obvious when you look at the different displays.

Just out of curiosity, what phone are you using now, and if it's not an iPhone, why not?

The iPhone display has always been in a league of its own, as well as it's camera. They do very well at Apple in giving the most accurate colors on the market. Android has a long history of over saturation.

This was true until 2012/3013. Apple still has great screens and cameras but there are also better options for both items now and have been for about 18 months.

edit: although other than the iPhone its difficult to get one device that excels at both.

Like mentioned above, this was true in the past, but not anymore. iPhones have always had fast cameras, but they are no longer the best (If you count Windows, iPhones have never been the best).
The only phones that are over saturated as Samsung/Motorola phones and that's due to their AMOLED displays. Every other major Android OEM uses either LCD/IPS displays.

I feel your post hits the nail on the head completely.

The iPhone, like any other phone, ultimately represents a package of compromises, and there are area which will matter more to certain users than others. For instance, I don't really care about being able to thoroughly customise my phone, so this much-touted benefit of Android is wasted on me.

Yes, if we search hard enough, I am sure we can find a phone which beats the iPhone in one area or another, but I have yet to find this one mythical android phone which manages to beat the iPhone in every aspect (i.e.: price, performance, ecosystem, ease-of-use etc), and I don't believe anyone will.

I don't know. I said that it had the best color accuracy, and nothing has topped it yet according to Gizmodo, except for one off-brand Android phone was equal. I'll go back and find the link.

iPhone has best color accuracy only if you use it in a dark room or indoors

If you go to sunlight or ambient light , color gamut starts falling with intensity of the light. That's where AMOLED displays come to take advantage of their 100+% wide color gamuts which actually provide better accuracy under outdoors.

You can also set normal mode for getting accurate colors for indoors.

iPhone's display = color good only for indoors

Price and performance shouldn't be a factor for an iPhone seeing as all high end android devices cost the same as the iPhone. Ecosystem is the same across most high end devices because of Google Services. If anything Samsung Devices have the best ecosystem because they can integrate well into other Samsung electronics like their media player, and their TVs. Ease of use is debatable as I see all kinds of people use Samsung Galaxy devices and seem pretty happy.

Well, apple has the benefit of its own services in addition to google's, but which also has the downside of costing them money to maintain, unlike google's services, which are either free (for OEMs) or earning revenue (for google).

Apple also does stuff like design their own custom processors, which aren't cheap, but I appreciate Apple really going out of their way to dictate the end use experience by customizing all these features.

It's all these little things I like about Apple. :)

That's nice. Are you trying to convert us? Because I wouldn't see much point in my going over to iMore to sing the praises of Android to the uninitiated. That's sort of like going to someone else's house and praising the car they didn't choose, and the paint they didn't choose, and.. maybe you get the idea. Then again, maybe not.

There is a saying which goes "One should not just be right, but also be correct for the right reasons."

People are free to hate on Apple; it just irritates me when they do so for reasons which I feel are fallacious, unfair, or that I don't entirely agree with.

I have no intention of trying to convert anyone, nor am I spoiling for a fight. I guess I am just trying to offer a more balanced viewpoint about Apple (at least, based on how I perceive it).

Mrs, there's positive things to say about both android and iOS. I've seen a few people wander into iMore and say positive things about android. Its not bad. There's so many of us, like myself, that use both platforms actively you get some cross-pollination.

Who is hating on Apple? Also there is a reason us android central forum readers chose android. We already know the weaknesses of iOS devices and decided that for a mobile phone OS, Android is better for us.

You have posted 3 times on here, and neither has added to the conversation, but only trying to slam other posters. So, who's trolling?
