I got an Android, but want to go back to the iPhone. Why is this?

Re: got an android but want to go back to iphone. why is this

Ford is not better than Honda, it's just different

If by different you mean Ford spending 10x more time getting fixed than a Honda is just different then yep, they're different alright. 😁

Re: got an android but want to go back to iphone. why is this

Check the U.S.carrier figures, as that is what I am speaking of. Apple's lowest average % over the past few quarters has been 46% of smartphone sales on the carriers.
That % will probably substantially increase when the larger screen iPhone releases.

Why do you insist on trying to force everyone to only pay attention to USA sales every time someone refutes your sales claims in Apple vs Android topic threads? And then when someone humours you by presenting USA only figures, you say ?oh no, carriers only!"
You appear to want only a very narrow range tailored to make your POV look more favorable, using a subset of the market that helps you accomplish this.

I suspect if this small area in which you want to dwell were to be shown as unfavorable to your argument, your next step would look something akin to this:

"Yes, but I was speaking specifically to US carrier only sales, but only during the waning moon cycle, with Aquarius rising during the quarter of the Spring Equinox to the Summer Solstice."

I'm not touching that one. Nope...not gonna touch it. Nope. Not. Gonna. Say. Anything. Okay, okay, I'll simply say that I've had 3 Hondas, all perfect and trouble-free and I've had no (0) Fords.

My original post stated "carriers". And it's not a sales claim , it's a fact.

I've had both, I prefer Toyota.

A lot of posts by people chasing windmills. If you are on Android and love it them what do you care if someone else prefers Apple? The same with Apple devotees. What do you care what Android users think? Just use you phone and leave it be.

Re: Got an Android but want to go back to iPhone. Why is this?

When I got my iPad Air, I was like, man I miss my iPhone.

Then I realized what I really missed was all the content working together or my dislike for some of Google's baked in products. I was hoping the Motorola purchase was going to lead to some of my personal dislikes being answered, but that went out the window.

Some people no matter what will never look at things in the middle though as evident by some posts in this thread.

Some things Android is great at, other Apple. Pick what you like the most.

Absolutely. I feel like if you can enjoy both you can really have the best of both worlds. ...or, in my case, when you feel bored and need a change...boy can you have one. That said, I can also wrap my head around some people's desire to love one platform and despise the other. I feel zero love...none, notta, zip, zero, zilch for blackberry. I can love android and iOS but I don't want to even be seen holding a blackberry in public. It's bad enough that I'm forced to use one at work and when I'm on call its a one-trick leash.

Yeah, we were told that when Verizon got the iPhone too. I'll believe it when I see it.

The fact remains that there are iPhones sold on-contract in every price range (even free) yet people are still choosing to buy Android phones. So it is obviously not just cost.

Re: got an android but want to go back to iphone. why is this

You mean like Android all the way up through Ice Cream Sandwich? Basically junk
...junk that managed to eat away at Apple Marketshare. You do know that Apple started with a gigantic lead over Android, right? What happened? Obviously Android was offering something Apple was not.

Just like Apple Maps, which will end up being a better product than Google Maps. It just takes time.
Let me know when it actually happens. I can still remember Apple people laughing at Android and saying there was no way it would ever catch up, nevermind pass Apple marketshare. How times have changed eh?

Apple is coasting on it's name recognition. That will not support it forever.

Re: got an android but want to go back to iphone. why is this

Interesting opinion
What have you seen from Apple lately that has not already been on Android for years?

Apple used to innovate. When the retina display first came out (for example) it demolished everything else on the market. It was very obviously better than anything on Android. Those days are gone. Android has passed it up in most areas and the areas it has not, it is still a close race.

Thats why I think the current Apple sales are more brand loyalty than anything else. And why I think it is inevitable that they will atrophy. Unless of course Apple starts innovating again...but I doubt that will happen. Turns out Steve Jobs really was what kept Apple on top.

Re: got an android but want to go back to iphone. why is this

Yeah, we were told that when Verizon got the iPhone too. I'll believe it when I see it.

And it has been their biggest seller ever since.

But junk nonetheless.

And that will probably be said about Apple Maps, as there is a fairly good chance that it will surpass Google Maps.

Lol! Yeah, okay. Sales records are set year over year, and show no signs of slowing down. No Android mfgr. can make a single phone that can outsell the current version of any iPhone, so I don't see where your reasoning comes from, unless it is just hatred for Apple. I love all 3 platforms, and have 2 of the 3 now( leaving BB out of the equation).

Apple used to innovate.

Who does innovate now? Nobody. It has come down to making improvements to the systems, and hardly any game-changers.

Device...not OS.

And it was not the magic bullet Apple people kept insisting it would be. It did not topple Android, and in fact Android continued to gain marketshare.

But junk nonetheless.
If it was junk, and people still bought it in place of Apple products...what does that make the Apple products? You tell me.

And that will probably be said about Apple Maps
Why would you expect Apple Maps to be better? What are they bringing that is new?

Seems to me they are struggling just to copy what Google has already done.

Lol! Yeah, okay. Sales records are set year over year
Yes they are.

Who does innovate now?
Um...How about Motorola?

Re: got an android but want to go back to iphone. why is this

Um...How about Motorola?

Motorola did a great job, but it wasn't innovation. They optimized hardware and software, something that Apple has done from the beginning.

It made the Apple product superior for many years, and now Android is finally catching up, and in some cases surpassed Apple.

Um...they provided actual additional functionality. Something Apple has not done for a very long time.

Being able to use your always-on phone completely hands free is new. Apple has not done that before. Even other Android phones have not done that before.

It's neat how this exact same conversation can occur so passionately over and over and over and over again. The thing I've never been able to quite grasp is what the participant's goal is...or is it just to pass the time?

Are you talking about yourself or us? The people making the pro-Apple arguments are doing the exact same thing.

I don't get why it bothers them that I think Android is the better platform. It's just an opinion, and I am entitled to one like anyone else.

I really try not to make pro apple arguments any more than I make pro android arguments. I make a point to keep it that way because I respect that I'm on an android forum and that not everyone chooses to be objective.
