I got one yesterday

Seems like a lot of expense and hassle just to get the phone a week early. But whatever floats your boat. While I want one, I don't want one that bad. In fact, I'm not sure I'm even going to bother now until after the 1st of the year. That being said, I hope you enjoy it!

I called my local bb and i asked if they are selling nexus and he said yes. I asked iif it was delayed but he said he could sell me one.
To me I was like ummm sounds either a BS or he doesn't know anything..

So think it's worth going there to see if i could? do they have to call the phone to see if it works or could I just take it home?

Hell - I say go for it unless you are a long way away and value your time if it ends up wasted.

I just stopped in BB on my way home from getting my car serviced, and I asked about the GN. Rep acted like he never heard of it and ended up doing a google search for it. Based on that research he decided that the launch date was the 15th. I asked about demo units and he said they didn't have any. He also said that they may not get the phone on the 15th because they don't always get phones on launch day. He then talked to someone on his headset and they said that they would have it on launch day (if the 15th is the actual date). My assumption is that the guy on the other end told him that they were already in stock and were waiting for the go-ahead from VZW.

I debated whether to post this. I wasn't going to, because I didn't want to incite a riot. I JUST HAVE TO SHARE.

I can't go into detail about where, who, how, why...but I got mine. It has 4.01 and does not show any available updates. It is much more solid feeling than I thought it would be. Does not have the typical cheap Samsung build. No creaks when you squeeze it.

ICS is everything I imagined and more. I love life. :-!

i can tell your right now you are in a vzw corp store (where they have the demo handset) . In the first pic is a back of a monitor in which i have at my store and off on the right handside, that's a vzw corporate land line phone. I know that because of the button that sticks out on the side (enables you to tilt the phone for more comfortable viewing). So yes... you are probably an employee.

Can you return an LTE phone without its' original LTE SIM card? Glad you were able to get your GN activated though, you jumped through enough hoops.

If the sim has been activated you need to keep the sim card and put it in a new phone or destroy it. The sim contains your personal phone number. It can't be re-activated.

For everyone still posting how he's a troll maybe you should try and read the whole thread before posting your BS. He admitted that those first pics were in a Verizon store. And he has posted pics proving its his. If you don't have time to read the whole thread don't waste your time typing stuff that makes you sound like a a terrible detective. Please, no one else respond to this post by tjlandberg. There is enough drama in this thread and this whole Galaxy Nexus forum with everyone getting so worked up over the release of this phone taking so long.

Everyone is so ramped up about this phone, they are lashing out at each other due to the delays. None of us here is the cause of the delays, so can we all please just follow Phil Nickinson's advice and relax? We all want this phone, but directing our frustrations at each other isn't going to get us this phone any sooner.

I have yet to see a demo unit that is on display behind a a POS monitor. That pic is from the vantage point of a customer holding the phone in hand at the counter while being rung out by an employee who would be standing in front of both monitor and the land phone. At least, that's whatvit looks like to me.
No clue if this provesborbdisproves anything but it's just something that caught my eye.

Can you test the gps and see how long it takes to lock in location? See how long it takes navigation to kick in?

The GPS takes almost no time to lock in. When I tried typing some destinations with 2 bars, it navigated instantly. I am really liking the GPS! Also the 4g take no time at all to lock on and it switches from 3g-4g very quickly.

Thanks for info. I am keeping the bionic. I love it. I was wondering on gps for friends that wanted the Nexus. I am glad that gps works. Maybe Samsung actually made a phone with a working gps for a change.

I returned a razr.. before I even activated it.. I asked them if they wanted the simcard and they said no.
