Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about a Visual Voicemail app, or just the voicemail inbox for the Phone?

I am having the same problem. It is the voicemail icon that came with the phone. I dont believe it is visual voicemail.

Welcome to Android Central! Don't you access voicemail by opening the Phone app and long-pressing the 1 key on the dialer?

Yes, but like the person that started the origional post, there was a voicemail icon that lookedd like an app icon that i accidentally deleted and i cant get it back. With out this it makes it hard to know if i got an unread voicemail. The only notificaion i would have is if i open up the phone app and go to keypad. Too manynsteps and i need a quicker process. I wantbmy "app" icon back!

Bear with me, because I don't have an S8 myself. Wouldn't a regular voicemail show up on the unread count badge for the Phone icon? Does this voicemail icon you're referring to represent regular voicemail or visual voicemail?

I see this message is months old, but maybe this will help someone.

I don't have an S8, but I did find a solution on the S9 that may work.

Go to APPS
Choose Samsung
Click Add Apps
Scroll down to Visual Voicemail
Click to highlight the radio button
Click ADD; top right

From the Samsung Apps folder you can hard press and move the icon to your home page or wherever you want it to live.
