We're tight on the heels of the Galaxy S6 edge+ announcement, and that means we have one in our hands and we're ready to answer your questions!

A few things to remember:

  • I have only had the phone since Friday (8/15) so won't have many long-term impressions just yet
  • I have an Eastern European model, so I can't comment on carrier features
  • I'm running the phone on T-Mobile currently

So go on, ask away! I'll try to keep up with the thread best I can.

Also note that I have a separate thread for the Galaxy Note 5. You can find that right here.

Can you extract the camera .apk to install on normal sized s6 & s6 edge to get the new functions (shutter control & live youtube)?
Or wouldn't it work that easy?

What is the software version? Very important did you notice an improvement in multitasking, because Samsung said it will be fix.

Thank you in advance

How is the camera?

Great, same as the GS6.

Not that easy.

5.1.1. Multitasking seems just fine, just like on the GS6 — same internals and software. Both are faster than the Note 4, clearly.

How do you cope without a menu button?

There isn't a menu button.

What do you know about infrared. Is that available? Note 4 has it.

No infrared port on the GS6 edge+ or Note 5.

How is the battery life?

Only had the phone 24 hours — lots of which was spent sleeping. Not going to comment on battery until I've used it a few days. But even then, battery life impressions are just that, impressions. Not much you can say about battery that can be applicable to everyone.

Just realize that this is basically the same inside as the Galaxy S6 / S6 edge, but with a battery that's 15% larger. Battery life will be better than those phones, but not dramatically.

How easy is the edge+ to use with one hand? I am able to use the G3 / G4 no problem with one hand. Hoping the edge+ has a form factor similar to the G4 that would make it easy to use in one hand. Thanks ;)

Have you tried the live YouTube streaming and how easy and well does it work? Sharing options from the camera app? How do you tell others you are live streaming?

The edge screen makes it a little awkward to hold, though the metal band along the sides is a little wider than that on the regular GS6 edge. It's roughly the same size as the G4, but thinner and flat on the back — you'll really have to see if it fits your hand.

Do you have a side by side picture of the s6 edge and s6 edge + ?

Yup. Check out this article:

Could you paste a screenshot of RAM usage after you start the phone?

Not sure what you really get out of this, but here you go:

Haven't quite yet. It's just regular YouTube streaming like you can do on other devices — people are notified if they follow you on YouTube or go to your YouTube page. You can also share the video afterward, of course, since it's shared to YouTube.

Hi
I know S6 edge+ does not has s-pen. But will note 5 s-pen work on S6 edge+ ?
Thank you.

No.

How much space was available out of the box?

Also, experience any overheating when pushing the phone?
