I have a pixel 2 and when i connect to my JBL pulse it doesn't play sound

I have a pixel 2 and when i connect to my JBL pulse it shows that its conneted and I can even turn the volume up and down from the app I use but i cannot get any sound to play over the speaker.

I use the Google play music app which comes with the phone.

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Bluetooth and tap the gear icon next to the speaker entry. Make sure Media Audio is turned on. Also make sure the phone isn't currently connected to some other Bluetooth device for Media Audio, since most phones can only play media over one connected Bluetooth device at a time.
