I Have a Request for Those of You w/o Signal Issues Update 3/5

Re: I Have a Request for Those of You Without Signal Issues

No signal issues here, Miami. I do have weak signal at work, 1-2 bars, and 3-4 everywhere else, all 4G. My screenshots from pretty heavy use, 3-4 hours of Google music streaming, browsing, and voice. Cant upload screenshots from Gnex via browser, will upload tomorrow. 0% w/o signal

Re: I Have a Request for Those of You Without Signal Issues

Here is mine, Southern Indiana. Never have had a dropped call. Only use 3g to save battery.

Re: I Have a Request for Those of You Without Signal Issues

I was working so the battery stats are with minimal usage..... I was also on WIFI for the first part of the day. I live in Buffalo, NY.

You can upload screen shots from the browser.....sometimes. sometimes i press the choose file button and can choose from gallery, camera and a few other spots on my phone......sometimes i press choose file and nothing happens. Anybody else have any thoughts on that?

Re: I Have a Request for Those of You Without Signal Issues

If you really need a screnshot I'll post one, but 7 hours on battery, some yellow, some green, never red. The yellow lines up with the times I was asleep. Green otherwise.

I really envy you guys that get green at all. I think I've only seen about an hour of green since I got my gnex. I've been in fort worth and the northeast corridor the whole time. Never really got green anywhere from d.c. to Connecticut. That just doesn't seem right to me. Here's the last 9 hours in Arlington, VA. Maybe there is some validity in the bad batch idea.

Mine is completely yellow. Right now I'm in a rural area where only Verizon works good. As I go different places I'll keep an eye on how it changes.

I am assuming that it makes a difference if you are running the new radios or 4.0.3. I haven't read anywhere where anyone has stated which one they are using, if it makes a difference.

Here are my screen shots :'(

Can anyone interpret them for me? Also, how come my screen shots are attached thumbnails and others are embedded in their posts?

I thought I was one of the lucky ones getting good reception because I had not had any dropped calls or problems connecting, but I see that I have had 21 % of the 3 hours and 27 minutes today without signal. I am downtown Atlanta and it should have a good signal.

I wonder if the nexus doesn't read something wrong. I mean if there is no red on the graph how can you be 43% without signal? To me this seems like something software related that is reading the "time without signal" wrong for some. because it seems that not everyone is having a high time without signal and some are having a very high amount even when it shows no red on the stats.

It didn't make sense to me, either. Thanks.

How do I embed the screen shots in my post rather than having them attached as thumbnails?

One assumption might be possible.

If a signal drop is REALLY REALLY BRIEF (like a few seconds), but coming back repeatedly, it may not show up on the horizontal bar of the signal, just like CarryMe's. It drops the signals, but it's simply not showing up because each eposide is too brief. I saw the very similar problem from one person at another forum. You will see what I am saying if you think of a phone who lost the signal only for 1 minute out of 10 hours. It would show up on the cellular standby menu. However, the horizontal signal bar probably will not show any brief red because each episode was too short compared to the entire measured time.

Of course, there is possibility that CarryMe's phone has been reading the time wrong.

That is true but if it was so brief why would it show without signal 43% of the time yet not show up on the horizontal bar at least once?

Re: I Have a Request for Those of You Without Signal Issues

Just FYI, I noticed your phone shows it being "awake" 100% of the time for the entire 3-4 hours you were using it. Not sure if you saw that too. Your phone does not show the screen being on during that time, so maybe you were listening to radio? Or your phone might not be sleeping when it should.

Doesn't really explain your loss of signal 65% of the time, but it could be the "Gnex not going to sleep" problem that has been mentioned in other posts and could be draining your battery.
Good catch. No, I wasn't listening to the radio or anything else that should have kept it awake. I'll be diggin into that......hmmm......

The only thing I can come up with on the loss of signal is maybe while at home is really is that spotty. My OG Droid normally worked at home, but reception was a little spotty.
