I have a Samsung Galaxy s5 and it won't update to Nougat

I had my phone open lined but it still didn't work. The guy who open lined it said to keep updating it. I tried to update it today but it says that the device has been modified in an unauthorized way. It was previously virgin mobile and it currently runs marshmallow.

Is there a way to update my s5?

The S5 doesn't have an official Nougat update, unless you meant a different Galaxy phone. The last update was Marshmallow, so it sounds like you're at the end of the cycle anyway.

The only way to get Nougat would be to install a custom ROM on it.
