I have anLG G3 with android 6.0

While listening to Rhapsody with Map my Ride running in the background, the volume sometimes turns off on its own. When I turn it back up it goes back down, usually right away but sometimes it takes a few seconds.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Rhapsody. This seems to have worked for awhile, but not feasible to do this constantly. Any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! Is this happening with a wired or Bluetooth headset?

Wired, and also with no headset.

Ok--if it was only with a wired headset, I was going to suggest that it might be a problem with the headphone jack receiving false volume control signals. I suppose it could still happen even without a headset plugged in if the jack itself was faulty.

Does this only happen with Rhapsody? What about other music apps?

Also on Pandora. Doesn't happen on Bluetooth or when casting.

Ok, and you never have problems with media volume turning down when playing games or using other apps that constantly play sound? I ask this because it would suggest a problem with the volume button. If it's only happening with music, I'd still be suspicious of a problem with the headphone jack. Something like that might require the jack to be replaced by a technician.
