I have changed from Apple to HTC

I ended up going back to iOS today. I loved the M8 I just missed iOS and the 5s. But I have to admit the M8 is the very best android phone I ever had and I had plenty of android phones.

Can't knock a person for trying. Can I ask how long you used your M8 and what you missed about your iPhone that made you home sick?

I had it for 2 months. I really missed the size of the 5s and Siri, iMessages, the keyboard idk why but I always loved iOS keyboard, and because iOS 8 I like all the features they ganna be adding. Oh and I also like the apps how some are just made better than the android version apps and I'm also ganna miss how some android apps are better than iOS but overall I missed a lot from iOS. But I defiantly loved the M8 it's a very great phone and very very fast and smooth just like the iPhones.

Thank you , good to know! Well, at least you gave Android an honest look..

My biggest gripe was iTunes and converting the music or the movies before syncing. Now I can drag and drop.

You can even use airdroid(app) to just drag and drop wirelessly

I appreciate the rational explanation as to why you went back to iOS. At least you tried it and gave it a good chance before heading back.

Hopefully you don't end up wanting your M8 back if Google announces something amazing at Google I/0.

Man, now I am thinking about Google I/0 and getting all excited for no reason. Thanks a lot...

I already miss my M8 because of a few reasons a main one is the screen and the speakers boom sound is the best on any phone I've ever had.

My son got Coffee all over my 5s, so i bought an unlocked m8. I have been using it for the weekend.

Here are my observations comparing the two.

M8:
-Camera is Terrible
-Battery life is decent(Not amazing, but decent)
-OS is smoother than GS5
-No bloat on my unlocked version is amazing
-Apps arent as good as iOS counterparts
-Google Hangout is inherently flawed compared to iMessage
-Double tapping the screen to wake up is amazingly handy
-Reaching for the power button to turn off the screen is kind of a chore
-Speakers on the front are amazing and are a joy to use
-Drag down to toggles takes you to Notifications and another tap to get to quick toggles is not as simple as GS5

Consensus about the m8 for me. The phone would be the perfect Android device if two of its negatives were fixed. ****ty Camera and the Black bar with HTC on it(To reduce the vertical size). Once those are fixed, Deciding between an iPhone and HTC one is only about deciding between iOS and Android.

Some of my own thoughts on top of yours. just opinions of course.

M8:
-Camera is Terrible ( disagree. not as good as many camera phones out there, especially with a light source in the shot, but you can take some really good photos with it imho)

-Battery life is decent(Not amazing, but decent) ( I would say it is on par with the iPhone 5 I had before it which I think is rather impressive, by my last android phone was a galaxy nexus and compared to that this battery is astonishing.)

-OS is smoother than GS5 (don't have extensive experience with the s5 so I can't comment here)

-No bloat on my unlocked version is amazing (I'll bet!)

-Apps arent as good as iOS counterparts (I personally don't know about this. android apps have gotten pretty much on par with iOS counterparts at this point, at least as far as the popular ones are concerned.)

-Google Hangout is inherently flawed compared to iMessage (some would argue iMessage is rather flawed too in some aspects but yes I know what you are talking about with hangouts. )

-Double tapping the screen to wake up is amazingly handy (I use this all the time. easily my favorite feature on this phone)

-Reaching for the power button to turn off the screen is kind of a chore (there's an app for that :) I don't remember what it's called but it's a couple tap to turn the screen off. of course it would be nice if that was baked into the OS but.... )

-Speakers on the front are amazing and are a joy to use (AGREE 100 Percent. amazing speakers.)

Problem with the swype down with 2 fingers, you just made it a two hand device.

So just swipe down and tap the toggle at the top right.. All one hand.

Swype is also good, I've been with them since early Beta. Why type when you can Swype?! lol

Exactly! I've used Swype for years and I'll never not use it again. Typing individual keys to text? Time waster.

You can still swype with SwiftKey, and I actually type way faster hitting each key than my friends who swype.

I tried Swiftkey and got frustrated with how many words it missed. I hated it and now I'm back to Swype. Also, if you type faster than those who Swype, said friends need to learn to Swype

Not necessarily true. I feel like I'm about even as far as how fast I Skype compared to how fast I type.
Swipe is wicked useful it's just not 100 percent practical all the time. Granted I have not used swipe all that much, I more so prefer to type each word out, but lately I've been giving it a shot, I can see how some people could get really fast with it.

Agreed, there's no possible way one should be able to type faster than Swype! The only thing I don't like about Swype is that it does not naturally space bar after each word so you won't get predictions. But, when you hit the space bar to get predictions you get a message telling you it's not necessary to hit the space bar. Aside from that, it works really well.

Moving music from iTunes wasnt a chore. This is actually pretty easy to do. I am a novice and I was able to do it. Play Music Manager was foolproof.

Google move music from iTunes to Android. I used the geek.com answer
