For all of you that want an improved dialer (not including you lucky people running sense UI), check this out. "Dialer One" It has totally improved my phone experience. I hope you enjoy this find as much as I have. Feel free to share your thoughts. Cheers!

Thanks for the tip. This is exactly what I want for a dialer. I was waiting for shsh to release aContacts for 2.0, but Dialer One does exactly what I want for search.

I can't seem to find this in the Market. Is this another 2.0/2.1 specific app. I am still stuck on 1.5 with the Samsung Moment, hopefully for only another couple of weeks.

Acontacts is made by the same developer. It may be compatable, just not as fast, but it does the same thing. Cheers!

It does search for name. Actually it's the app first's interest.

Hi,

I have tried doing that for aTAKEphONE (I am the developer), but it seems it can't be done - the on-screen PHONE button is hard-coded to launch the built-in dialer.

I liked the look of DialerOne too, but I wish it could be accessed by the default Phone button in HTC Sense. The status bar button helps somewhat, but if they ever find a way to hard-code it to the bottom "phone" button that would be sweet. I think some phones can have it as the default dialer though.
