I have the HTC 10 thinking about the HTC u11 or the pixel 2

My HTC 10 was bought unlocked but I put the SIM (EE network in the UK) that I got with my old BlackBerry Priv a year before.

What happened was the Priv got destroyed by a huge wave on the beach (lol) and I then bought the 10 to replace it. I had got the Priv on contract.

Do you think somehow my HTC isn't receiving regular updates because of this?

The HTC U11 is a great phone. Extremely fast and that's saying something considering I came from having to use an iPhone 7 for a few months (which is supposed to be faster). The only thing I don't like is how wide the U11 is. The Pixel 2 (non XL) would be much easier to hold one handed being narrower and only 5" screen. I didn't realize the HTC U11 was the size of an iPhone 7 Plus, an obviously dated design. But really if you have large hands this isn't a problem. Money was the deciding factor for me though, I got it used for $420, considerably less than the Pixel 2.

Wow, what a great deal you got! Good for you! :) What colour HTC U11 do you have?

im in the same boat my 10 is currently at HTC getting repaired and im trying to decide if i want to go for the pixel 2XL, u11 or u11plus*...i guess ill wait until i see ahead to head comparison of all three

anything is better than that s8 with all that bloatware and I think touchwiz is nowhere near as good as sense on the HTC. I would take a look at the U11 plus or the Pixel 2plus and pick from those.

I've also heard good things about Sense on the HTC U11.

Sense is good but it needs a design refresh. Would appreciate a consistent icon shape.

Also, Blinkfeed is garbage now, I deleted it on my 10.

Sense does need a refresh but I just use Nova and that takes care of it. Honestly, I'd use Nova on the Pixel as well since I love all the customization that Nova provides.

With the Pixel XL 2 screen being less than stellar (I've seen it myself), I'm excited about the U11 Plus that is going to be announced in a few weeks. If that phone is the real deal then I may need to upgrade from my U11, which I absolutely love.

I have the U11 and if it wasn't available the Pixel 2 XL would be my next phone of choice. only think I don't like is no memory card slot and I really like have that extra removable memory on my U11 . HTC is also said to be coming out with the U11 plus by the end of the year so that might be worth the wait to see what it's like. Whatever u do good luck and let us know ur decision.
Ohhh thanks for the info on U11 Plus. I wonder if Verizon will carry it?

I don't know what people keep saying about a "dated" design, I love having bezels, you can't keep your phone safe enough of you don't, there's no way to wrap around the front all the way around with a case. but I have the u11 and I love it, top specs, and the edge sense is amazing, the pixel offers the squeezable sides but google doesn't allow you to use them to do near as much as HTC allows you to do, the u11 iss, in my opinion, the beat phone on the market, and also far more reasonably priced compared to other flagships

I had the 10 and upgraded to the to the U11. You will not be disappointed. awesome camera, Flawless performance, excellent battery, expandable storage, great display and the bundled usonic earbuds sound amazing. Yeah it's got bezels, but, the fingerprint scanner is in the right place. and it's cheaper than either of the pixel 2's.

I agree with what the posters above said. I ended up cancelling my Pixel 2 XL order and will Kerri my U11.

As far as I'm concerned, the main advantages that the Pixel 2 offers is a better camera, pure Android experience, Oreo and the latest software and security updates.

Other than, U11 has equal performance, better screen, better edge sense , expandable storage, better fingerprint location, and a nicer design. All for a much lower price!

I agree with you: I need bezels. I'm a clumsy and weird person and having bezels just means there's less chance of my phone suffering a horrible fate at my hands - literally. 😂

Going from the Nexus 6P to the U11, I really appreciate having the fingerprint scanner on the front (where I think it belongs). It's just more natural for me, personally, to grab my phone, touch the home button on front, and instantly unlock. It's also much faster than the Nexus 6P at recognizing my finger and unlocking, but I can't speak to the speed of any other newer phones.

I'm in that group of people that actually prefers the 16:9 aspect ratio and doesn't mind the bezels.

I can definitely say for a fact that the fingerprint scanner on the U11 is faster than the iPhone 8/plus. I tested it last night with 2 of my friends that had the 8 and the plus. It's not just faster, the U11 smoked the iPhones.

At this time I also prefer the 16:9 aspect. May change my mind in the future. The U11 plus is tempting me.

The dated part for me isn't the bezels, it's every HTC made part of the UI.

I think they're buying the u11 from swappa someone selling it for about $500. it would save me about 150.

thank you every one I appreciate all The responses. I am still pretty much on the fence between the pixel 2 the 5-inch one and the HTC u11. Got to wait a couple months anyways before I buy it. though I saw a HTC u11 on swapa for 485 what do you guys think.
