I have to be missing something

Okay so I just came from a WinMO 6.5 phone. And I think I may have found the first major turn off for me with Android. So far, everything has been a wonderfully amazing experience, finding an app or hack or tweak to do something is so much better.
My problem is with the built in Calender. It blows. And then, all of the Calenders on the Market look like my first escapades in the web programming world.
The feature I need is to set recurring tasks on a EVERY X DAY/WEEK/MONTH basis. I would love to do this with the stock calendar so that all the calendar widgets continue to work but when I go to add a new task I can have it repeat:
Daily
Weekly
Monthly
etc..
These are all great, except that I have a task that happens every 6 days, and another task that happens for 2 days of the week every 4 weeks. On Windows Mobile (which is much more business oriented, I understand) my HTC Sense Calendar wouldn't let me add events like that, but the built in OS calendar would (and the events would then both show up and work on the Sense calendar)

Is there some solution I'm overlooking?

use google calendar in the browser, and switch to Desktop Mode. You can set repeating events to your heart's content.

Make a bookmark to the desktop version. go back and long-click on the bookmark inside the browser, and select "add to home screen". when you click the shortcut on your homescreen and the browser opens with the calendar, hit "cancel" at the message about the desktop version having limited features and you will be on the full desktop-style version of google calendar.

Off the top of my head create a Microsoft outlook account and setup your meetings on that colander, it will be easy to sync to your phone. That's What I do. Im sure google colander would do the same thing.

Android has a very simple way to sync Google Calender with Outlook. Then you just use outlook and everything goes back and forth every few hours.

As an app try Business Calender.

I still have original Droid which came with a calendar app that just syncs with my online google calendar...no need to go through a browser to Google calendar. So What kind of calendar is on this Bionic? It doesn't sync with Google calendar?

It does sync with Google Calendar, but I think he's getting at Google Calender itself has more features than the stock Blur app. I keep everything synced with my Google Calendar rather than the phone calendar, but I don't need a recurring event thing like he does. But I don't love the built in calendar app either.

You can also try Jorte - it's free in the marketplace. Syncs perfectly with Google calendar and plenty of features (and about 25 different widgets).

I'm still waiting on my upgrade for the bionic but am using the Charge at the moment, I second Jorte, it's a GREAT calendar. I love having it transparent and sitting on a home screen, I have it synced with 3 different Google calenders. The options I see on it are one-time, daily, every weekday, weekly on Monday (Since it's Monday), monthly (every 3rd Monday), monthly and yearly. When creating an event that's the only options, I don't think that fits what you need :(
