I have to get rid of one or the other!

Which one should I keep

If you're currently using the One and not missing any of the TouchWiz features, I think you have your answer. To me it'd be more about which has anything you need. If you like swapping batteries, having an SD card or any of the TouchWiz features, the S4 obviously wins. If it's too close to call aside from your concerns over obsolescence, I agree that is a legitimate concern and you should take Samsung and HTC's respective track records in that respect into account. I had high luck with my HTC device except in the software upgrade regard. They sucked there.

... Most people agree that the iOS eco system is better and going from iOS to android is harder than going from android to iOS. Plus she probably has a lot invested already in iOS apps.

What? I couldn't disagree more. The transitions aren't as hard as you think.

As far as investment.. Seriously? People are dropping around $600 for a phone any you talking about not being able to transition for.$100 tops. Most folks only spend a few bucks on apps.

It sounds like you should ditch them both, save yourself an awful lot of money and spend some money and time on your wife instead. She'll be happy and in turn so will you be.

I would take a blank piece of paper and write down what you need a smartphone to do for you, and then decide that way.

I took this advice. While I loved the design of the ONE, I ended up keeping the S4. In the end the bigger screen real estate and removable battery were the most important. I will miss the sharpness of the ONE's display, I learned I am going to have to start traveling more with work and I will need to be able to swap batteries at times. Thank you all for your input! I know I went against the votes in the poll and I said I wouldn't. I guess I lied.....

The S4 is a good phone. I hope you have good luck with it. The removable battery is a valid point, but just so you know there is a snapdragon app that increases the battery life of the One, plus there are portable battery chargers for those who travel. New battery technology will soon make aux. batteries a thing of the past. These new batteries will work similar to a capacitor, and charge up almost immediately. I can already hear people saying in years to come "When I was your age we had to wait overnight to charge up our batteries" :-*

In the end, what matters most is what works best for you. Glad you got it figured out!

I can't believe you didn't follow the advice of strangers over your own thoughts!!! :-)

Not that I'm trying to be pushy here but you know if you traded in your wife you could have added the Note2 to you're collection.

... Just saying

That's not even constructive input

Well guys and girls the S4 lasted all of 24 hours before regret set in. After having used the ONE for a few days the s4 felt very cheap. While it is a nice device I couldn't end up keeping it over the ONE. I picked up another ONE today to replace the one I just sold and the gs4 is going up for sale. That is the final decision:)

That's perfectly understandable. Kind of like wanting to get rid of a toy ring, after having worn a real gold ring. LOL....

I don't miss my s4 at all. Soon you'll have 4.2.2 and your One will be complete.

These look great. Thanks for posting the link. Will have to pick one of these up.

I'm running Android Revolution so I'm already enjoying that 4.2.2 goodness and you are right it does make it complete!

After my back and fourth I could see why you would think this:) I sold the S4 today and I'm very happy with my decision. I found a sweet Speck case today and slapped it on my ONE and I'm good to go:)

I'm glad it worked out for you
You see, I'm eligible for an upgrade on July, so I've been doing research on the HTC One and the Galaxy S4 trying to decide on one of them. I've played in the store with both phones and so far I can't make up my mind :banghead:

About 2 weeks ago I started to write down what my needs would be on my next device (kind of like AngelArs suggested here) and so far I see the Galaxy S4 winning. But I really like the way the HTC looks and sounds, that glass and metal body definitely looks better compared to the GS4 although I work in construction so a nice case will be use most of the time on my new phone. So metal vs plastic isn't that much of a deal breaker for me.

Oh well, I'll keep on researching my options. I really appreciate threads like this one where people behave themselves and help out. :)

I really LOVE the audio on the One. It's top notch and actually quite amazing.

I was watching a movie on the One the other day and heard a siren. I "thought " it was a real police car or ambulance coming down my street, but it was actually in the movie. LOL.... Not sure how they get this thing to sound so good but I really like it.
