Because us poor folks on Verizon, and AT&T will probably never see this update ever!!!
AND PS: Don't tell me to root my phone either, I shouldn't have to when the rest of the world has the official release!

You will eventually. You choose not to root deal with the consequences and stop whining

Vote with your feet (carrier)
Seriously, save up for your next phone, dont reniew your contract, get a pre-pay chip and be freeee (although it didnt work that way in UK lol)

If I could have gotten a Nexus 4 that works on Sprint in the U.S.....

But then again, my Sprint S3 came with Jellybean.

Haha sorry for the rant, but seeing that Canadian S3 users have JB now has me bummed. I've ordered a Nexus 4 so as soon as that comes I'll be FREEEEEEE!!!

But in all honesty I still really love my phone, I'd just love it that much more with 4.1! :-/

WOW, you're missing out man!!! The party is at 4.1!!!! They're handing out free apps everywhere and upgrading features left and right!!! OH and they are giving back money on your bill for having 4.1!!

....lol jk....:D

Blackberry user who just switched to Galazy 3 ... Im with wind mobile Canada and i dont have the jelly bean update yet. My friend with Rogers does. :(

In all honesty.....it isn't that big of an update, and you're really not missing out on much. I'm pretty meh with 4.1.1. The notifications are the only significant improvement, as far as I'm concerned. Google Now....a novelty for me at best and I barely use it. I haven't noticed any major change in the "buttery smoothness" that's been touted with the release. Just enjoy your phone, it's just as good with ICS!

I gota agree mate. Now's aparrent lack of support for Scotland disgusts me (and i dont mean the voice recognition lol that would be askin TOO much) :)
Also JB gives the s3 a lower Quadrant score, take that how you willm.
Im gona be tryin a different rom tbh

Exactly, stop whining!!! OP, as you know (since you've posted many times in it), there's already a long thread here about when Jelly Bean will be released by AT&T for the S3, and you've spent plenty of time whining in that one.

No need to start MORE threads just to whine MORE!!!

In my opinion even 4.1.x isn't that much to jump up and down about... Sure there has been some improvements here and there and the addition of the expanded notification area but I think I could still remain on ICS 4.0.x without issue. There are quite a few apps and bugs that are making 4.1.x & 4.2 a real pain in the butt to use in some situations.

No need to fuel the fire.... Better off just leaving it alone and it will eventually smolder out. ;)

That is the only thing that sucks about updates is waiting on the carriers.

I am lucky Sprint wanted to push the official JB update out fast. It's the only reason I have it. I rooted after just so I could use things like root explorer.

I like it on my Bell Aliant S3, but I wish they had left the Driving Mode on the notification bar. I used it often when driving to hear texts from my daughter. Now it takes forever to turn it on unless you use S-Voice. I guess I'll get used to it. Otherwise I'm happy with Jellybean.

I think it's pretty different... I was perfectly happy with a stock phone, no root. Then I saw the leaks come out, decided I would read up to make sure I knew how to put it back to out of the box state (stupid easy), and gave it a try.

I don't really use the new features but the main thing to me is the touchwiz redraws are gone and the screen flicker is gone. Also on stock I always noticed slight lag with returning home from anything and I tried disabling s-voice. With clean rom 5 none of that lag or hang ups are there anymore. The Google plus is nice I guess, not really for me though.

Edit: Google now not plus. Shows you what I know lol.

I feel your pain...If only the G Nexus had a Micro SD Card, I would have had that phone by now

Is anyone with JB experiencing substantially better battery life?

Me! But I reformatted and factory resetted. It also depends if you have a ton of apps with some actively looking for data or just spamming you with nonsense. You have to be aware of what you put in your phone. I woke up yesterday with a full battery and 4 hours later, not doing anything with my phone, I had 99% battery life left. That wasn't the case with ICS for me.

I use my phone 100% for business (don't play videos or music). I have to use push for syncing email/calendar/tasks. Other than that I don't have any open apps besides Lookout anti-virus.

What does it mean when you say you reformatted? Are you using the stock battery?

Could you briefly describe how you use your phone and how many hours the battery lasts?

Reformatted my sd card after I JB update. I'm using my stock battery.

I'm a moderate user. I listen to music most of the day. Play some video games through out the day. Surf the web. Watch parts of movies. Check my mail. Text and calls. Depending on how much I use my phone, I usually have anywhere between 20% to 80% at the end of the day. Its 4:55pm right now and I have listened to music on my commute to work this morning, a few text and 3 calls and I'm at 80% battery life right now.

I know from experience that constant syncing drains Android phone batteries quicker than just having it off. Just turn it off and sync when you need to check your mail, if possible.
