I just bought Chromecast to watch my videos. Why isn't video player an option?

I just bought chrome cast to watch my videos.

I have videos on my video player that I would like to see on my tv. When chrom asks share via, video player isn't an option

Chromecast casts from an Android device that's running Chromecast or any of these Chromecast supported apps. If the video player is a supported app, you should have no problem. If your device can support the Chromecast app you should have no problem. If not, you'll have to use a video player that supports Chromecast.

what above has said. Hpwever i'd like to add, if your phone supports it you can mirror the screen instead.
