I just got my Asus EeePad Transformer and I have a few words.

Correct. Put it in the root directory - where nothing but the / shows. Don't change the name or unzip. XDA has good instructions also or just Google. Even the AndroidCentral thread on installing the leaked 3.1 version has good instructions. It's the same process no matter where you get the file from...

Good luck & enjoy your Transformer!
Thank you.

I have to disagree. You're doing things that can be done on a $500 computer. While it might be slightly easier to create flow charts on a tablet, it can be done and has been done for many years on a PC.

Id like to see a computer that can be used as a tablet and be as portable as the tf or other tablets are. Sure you could build a cheapo desktop and buy a tablet like a bambo, but that would be useless to someone as mobile as I am.

Got my transformer and dock yesterday. Love the build quality. Everything seems really well built. I had an acer iconia but decided to get the transformer when it became more available. The transformer is a lot lighter than the iconia which is great. The IPS panel is fantastic but I will definitely be getting a anti-glare shield like I do for all these glossy screens.

The dock is definitey worth the investement if you do a lot of typing (which I do).

Other things I love:
-Honeycomb syncs all my Google services out of the box. With Google Music, Amazon MP3 player, Dropbox, and Picasa integration - i don't need to connect to a computer at all.
- Chrome bookmark sync is a godsend!
-The keyboard dock adds a lot of functionality.

Things I don't like:
-Definite lag when typing in the default browser using the keyboard dock.
-touchpad is sensitive to accidental swipes when typing. (function key to disable trackpad is a great)
-Screen has a lot of glare. i really wish this glossy trend would end so I don't have to keep applying third party anti-glare screen protetors.

Overall: very Happy

See this is why I LOVE my thinkpad. Matte screen. Why they insist on making glossy screens for mobile devices is beyond my understanding. Just doesn’t make sense to me as glare is a huge distraction as well as makes the device useless or near useless in sunny conditions. Makes it hard to work outside or even at work.

Either way I am thinking about getting a protector for it too, but I have always had issues with screen protectors negatively effecting touch screen mechanics.

Well I have been playing with the transformer and dock for a little while now and I must say its pretty awesome. The browser lag isnt as bad as I thought it would be but it sure is present. Going to try a few browsers and tweaks to see what I can do about it. Other then that the thing is everything I wanted and more.

Others have reported this same problem. Check back a few posts - the update is now avaialable on the ASUS website for download. Link to their website and instructions on manually loading it are all there. If you still have questions, just ask and someone will help you out! :D

After a month with my TF, it's OK but keyboard lag is just crazy. I had Ipad previously and what I find missing on TF/Android tablets is the ability to print. No problem on Ipad, worked great. How could Android be this far along and not include that type of function? For me I love the Android OS (only had Ipad as no Android tablet was reasonably sufficient to use at the time. How could ASUS release this with that glaring issue with keyboard lag in browser - that's probably 75% of the use for the tablet.

Love my transformer. No issues with dock or tab. I have been using it to connect to office PC via Pocket cloud and dropbox. Both have worked perfectly as has quick office. I have been able to continue to stay connected and work. Even plugged in the portable USB hard drive. This thing rocks!

Just bought the Transformer 2 days ago and I like it very much, seems to do everything i want, I had the HP Touchpad and sent it back, did not play videos to well, they were jittery.

I bought the Printershare app and it works on my Canon MG5220 (wi fi).

manual update not working for me.. just purchased; shipped w 3.0.1.. downloaded the US file UpdateLauncher_US_epaduser8445.zip and dropped it into /mnt/sdcard... hold power/volume down and get the boot screen; hit the up volume key and it looks like it starts briefly then i'm left with android and exclamation point in triangle.. thoughts? thanks in advance :-)

Try moving the .zip file to the root directory - ie where there is nothing showing but \ in something like Astro or Root Explorer. Also do not rename or unzip the file. Should work.
