I don't have a Sprint phone to look at myself. I'm basing this on your screenshots. You didn't show the screen it would be on. You stopped scrolling down too soon based on the screenshots you posted.

Its available for Verizon under more networks in settings.

This icon was added after I activated it. Is it supposed to light up at any point to indicate it's working or doing something? It's been greyed out the whole time but I know it's working

It should light up when actively being used, like downloading a large app from the Play Store. You should also see the download distribution speeds in your notification pull down, unless disabled.

Btw, if your LTE signal is poor, it will not use it and will only use WiFi. So test it someplace you get somewhat decent signal.
