I made myself a car dock.

it the round disk that slides into the mounting clip a furniture foot?

No, its actually a bolt that I found around the house. I took a rubber washer that was a little too small for it and stretched it down to the bolt head. with the washer, it fits perfect and keeps it from spinning around.

The pics look good, the mount looks good. Great job and creative use of the mount that was already in the truck. For me, I prefer my phone to be a little higher up, and closer to my windshield so I don't have to look down to see my map.

But great job with the design, it's nothing like I thought it would look like.

It's always fun making your own accessories. I have 2 desktop docks that I made myself.

I think I'm gonna attempt a desktop dock for my next project. I'll probably use the same aluminum, but I'll need to find something to weigh it down. Or i might just find something that works better. I've seen your docks, and they look great. I really like the lego one.

i think you did a good job. the only thing i would do now is paint it black or a dark gray to blend into your dash board. it must of been fun to make.

I would paint it, but it would wear off on the pivot, and I think it would look too bad. I might find something to do to it, but I don't think I'll paint it.

Nice work! Way to be original, AND good at it!

Running the risk of showing my old age, would you agree that the "clip" you are referring to belong to... ooooh idunno, a C.B. MIC ??

I think that's a good possibility. The clip has Radioshack on it, and I'm pretty sure Radioshack sold C.B.s back in the day. It always bothered me that it was there, but I was afraid to take it off because I thought it might mess up the dash or leave a residue.

Thanks guys. It took about a day and a half to make, but that was because I ran out of materials and had to go get more the next day.
