Welcome. And if you ever miss your iPhone just download iLauncher and it will give you your fix so you can stay on the good side, and never go back. I use it for time to time on my S6 when I'm having withdrawals lol.

The other bad thing is using Android with a MAC. Android File transfer is terrible... and thats putting it politely.
Cloud-remote storage is unreliable, and outside of AFT there is no way to just plug an Android phone into a macbook with a USB cable.

I believe thats just because if the Mac really, and. It so much because Android has terrible file transfer. I have both a mac and a PC, and I have issues transferring files onto my mac. I however have no issues transferring files on to my PC.
Glad that you switched to android from IOS, if you still want to feel of ios dialer than you must install os9 call screen dialer app.

I just made the switch myself last month. I've been with iPhone since DAY 1! I was so behind them that I told myself everything else was garbage... That's when the Galaxy S7 Edge caught my attention. The curved display, those beautiful vibrant colors just rolling off the edges. I had to do some research. Huge battery, expandable memory, IP68 rated and this beautiful design. I was sold. Went into Verizon and made the switch, they made it painless for me thankfully.
When I got home, I must admit I was in shock. Android was so foreign to me that I didn't even know where to begin. I began digging through menus and settings trying to learn what this thing was capable of.
I'm hooked. I can't believe the level of control over your phone Android gives you. It's so open. I was blind but no more! I do miss a few things on iOS but this takes the cake. I may never go back. Glad I picked such a great device to break my Android cherry. Cheers everyone!!

I don't understand what's so special about imessage? It's just a texting platform which sucks anyway. Because not everyone has it.

iMessage allows for you to share pictures and video and all in the same way WhatsApp does, without compressing the image like it does with a regular mms message. Also you can send and recieve messages from your iPad, Mac, and of course the iPhone. No setup is required. I do agree with it not being as great because as you said, everyone doesn't have it.
Congrats on the switch. I hope you enjoy it. I've never used an iPhone but have bounced around between Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone and now I'm back to Android. I don't regret my decision one bit.
I liked it because its a text platform that works across ALL apple products, including ipods/pads without cellular activation. I think the Borg-drone mentality of apple fans works to the imessage advantage where everyone uses it as a collective and uniform platform. No rogue borgs running around doing their own thing.

Depends on how you think of it, I either never switched, or did. I had an Ipod Touch 3 to replace a Palm PDA. That never worked out, so I kept the Palm PDA, but also kept the Ipod Touch 3 for games. In 2011, I wanted to try out Android. An Iph would more or less be an IpT with internet connection, vibration, and other minor features, so I got a Samsung Galaxy s2. Many things about it that I liked, including the Menu and Back button. I liked it enough that I'm sticking with Android to this day.
Switched from iPhone 4 to the HTC One S a few years ago
The One S was my 1st ever Android phone
It wasn't HTC's flagship - the One X was but my carrier didn't have it.
Amazing aluminum premium feel, great to hold, and goes incognito in a jean pocket. So thin and light, sometimes I thought I forgot my phone somewhere lol.
Even though it wasn't a flagship phone, just switching from iOS to Android was amazing.
So much customization out of the box (lol at me jailbreaking every iPhone).
Not having to use iTunes was also liberating.
Sense also had some neat features.
Midrange Android > premium iPhone, as far as I'm concerned (not in specs, but user experience)

I have a PC, but it shouldn'the make difference...try this app...WiFi File Transfer. Get the (very inexpensive) pay version. No cables needed.

But in all seriousness, Samsung is a great brand to go with, especially the Edge series! Android is top notch for customization and, in my opinion, a personalized and excellent user experience. You can customize everything, from the icons on your screen to your lock screen VS homescreen wallpapers... And our app ecosystem is sick!
I know that I (personally) couldn't handle Apple's OS because I need to customize and personalize my devices... And I change everything every couple of weeks. I just love the infinite amount of possibilities with Android. Not to mention the freedom you get from choosing different brands/manufacturers; so if you want a bigger or smaller phone, or even one that specializes in something specific, you can grab that and not stick to a similar phone/hardware from last time.

A little late to this thread, but welcome to Android and Android Central! What was the deciding factor(s) that made you change?
I made a switched unintentionally because someone at my work had an extra Samsung S7 unboxed and insisted that I should try it. Man, am I glad that I did. Otherwise I would be missing out on how good Android is. Honestly, I'm very biased when it comes to Android since I have always been an iPhone user since day 1. I thought Android system is sluggished and unreliable. My truly first Android was GS4 and I hated so much I took it back after 3 days. A couple of years later, the S7 experience changed all of that for me. I think Android has come a long ways and its hard to pass it up this time. I was also getting bored with iOS and impatiently got tired of waiting for updated Jailbreak. Personally I think JB is dead. Since I consider myself tech savvy, I have no issue diving into Android. It is fairly easy and not as complicated as I thought. I have been having fun and I feel as if Android experience gave me sense of freedom and enjoying the technology again. With incremental changes with iOS became a dull to me and I wanted to get out of my comfort zone. I am still gonna follow what iOS is up to but that is for comparison reason. All in all I have no regret switching this time and I can't see myself going back to iOS for awhile. I love my Samsung S7.
I also want to buy an android phone after so many years of IOS. But S7 its a bit to expensive. What else is good atm?
