I Need Geekier Friends

I guess a typical phone convo would go:
Him: "Hey can I come by so you could tweak some stuff on my phone?"
Me: "Ummmm I gotta do some stuff this eve"
Him: "What about tomorrow?"
Me: "Uhh, I have to go to grandmas house to fix her leaky sink, how bout I call you when I be free?"
Him: "OK"

Then never call back hahah

tried this...they find me on facebook, or show up at my work....i live in a smallish town....they just find me lol

After rooting my phone and "pimping" it out, I did the same to wife's phone and tried to explain to her what I did. She just looked at me and called me a GEEK! Thanks guys! lol

Another big problem I have is I live in the land of blackberry. Everyone has them here don't know if its a redneck thing or what but no one has any android phones they think if its not blackberry its not a smartphone.

One guy at work decided today he is going to start calling me "geek squad" :D

I have various nicknames like that at work. A few guys in my old division called me "Gizmodo" because they saw me reading it on break one day. Now a few guys call me "Wiz Kid" and "Gadgets n' Gizmos".

I think it's out of love??? At least a few of them went Android instead of iPhone because of our conversations.

I'm glad my friends aren't geeky. They help me remember how pathetic it is to obsess over ROMs.

I am in need of a geeky friend for sure. Any chance one of you fine folks could be my geeky friend and help me unroot my phone? I posted my issues over on verizon-fascinate-rooting-roms-samsung-fascinate-rooting-eb01-return-stock-remove-system-apps-other-how.

I thought I was geek enough to root and flash, but I'm finding it's really not my cup of tea. I will be clicking thanks for anyone who lends a thought.

You can just odin back to DI01, and get over the air updates back to EA28, it'd be like you just opened your phone brand new. If that's what your after

That is what i'm after, generally speaking.

My phone is currently rooted EA28....I just want to unroot, and get rid of the superuser app. I thought I was comfortable w/ what I was doing, and i'm finding out i'm really not at all. Will odin'ing back to DI01 wipe my whole phone (apps, data, and all)?

Thanks Sheepdog Elite, your help is appreciated, cause i'm kinda freaking about about this now.

Don't freak out its cool but yes going back to DI01 will wipe all apps you will have a all new phone again. But if u r only rooted then why the worry. R u taking the phone back or worried u will hit the wrong button or what. I'm not saying that u should stay rooted its not for all and it should be done only to make u happy not sad like its causing u. I just like to know y u r freaking out so bad.

I'm not taking the phone back, but I kind of have the feeling that - I have officially personally decided that i'm not going to flash roms, and since i'm already hands deep in this, I'd just assume get my phone back to it's original state, that way if the day ever comes where I need to do so, i won't have to try and remember what I did do, didn't do, shouldn't do, or should do.

THere you have it...the longest run on sentence of all time.

P.S. I didn't purchase any apps, so I don't think flashing back to stock will be all too painful. Just going to have to set up my phone again is all. Thanks for checkin in TysDad

EDIT: Thanks to all my Geek friends. I am back to stock and unrooted.

You can remove the root access by using ADB, DroidXcon has a how to for just removing root without wiping your phone out.

I already wiped the slate, but thanks again Sheepdog! There may be another day I decide to try again, but for now, I will wait on big red for 2.2 (if nothing by August, I go again, at that point i'll have had the fascinate for 8 months).
