I need help guys serious help!!!! With rooting this ics leak

ok so quick story I'm very familiar with root I had thunderbilt and in the last two weeks I've ended with a free rezound with ext battery.. ok so I didn't root this out of the box big mistake....... Flashed the stick ifs leak from the !6th.... This thing over heats my battery big time and gives me no battery life.. how can I get root from here ? can i flash the pre root ontop of this one and if so what do I do then to get my root so I can go back to gb until the ota thanks so so much

If you flashed the leak not rooted, you need to unlock, then flash Amon Ra, there are directions for this. Amon Ra can root for you.

You are not going back to GB, sorry. Once you unlock and root, try a few different roms, see if any help with heat. Also, how hot are we talking, and what are you doing? If your streaming google music over 4g while playing Angry Birds, well, it's going to overheat, thats what a HD screen and dual core 1.5ghz processor is going to do. 115 is fine, 125+ is not.

Lastly, Scotts ROMS is trying an experiment, where you keep ICS on the leak, but flash the old GB kernal, to try to control heat and battery consumption. Check out Scotts website for this.

The leak was in RUU format so you could flash it without unlocking.

I am having the same problem..I am trying to figure out how to root on the ICS leak on my htc rezound...explain how to in more detail if you will..thank you

Dude, seriously? Myself, Mr. Smith, and others have sent you instructions with links to different write-up's and guides in like 3 separate threads. Are you reading the answers you're getting or just posting to different threads that you can't root?

Here it is yet again. While your phone is running normally go to menu, settings, power, at the bottom of the list make sure "Fast Boot" is unchecked. Also make sure there isn't a file on your SD card called PH98IMG.zip...if it is there, get it off the SD card. Now, power the phone off. Now power on while holding the volume down button. When it's ready, select Recovery...it should now boot to Amon-Ra you're custom recovery. Once in recovery, go to developer menu and select it. Then select Install su & superuser. DO NOT CHOOSE THE "UNGUARDED SU".

Now back out to the main menu and reboot the phone to normal mode. Go to the Play or market or whatever you want to call it and download Superuser from ChainsDD. Install it.


And again from Mr. Smith's own guide in the sticky section of this forum:

This will bring you into Amon Ra. Use the volume up/down keys to choose the ?Developer Menu?, and press the power button to accept. Now choose the option that says ?Install su & superuser? and click the power button. Once this is complete choose return/Reboot now and click the power button. Your phone will reboot normally.

When you?re all back up and running you still need to do one last thing. Head over to the Android Market(Play Store) and download Superuser by Chainsdd. Here?s the web link: LINK
