I need help! Please

Hello Guys,

I have the Verizon Fascinate. I had it rooted with Z4root. Then the other day by mistake I updated it with the DL09 update, which basically unrooted the darn thing. So I searched and searched and I found the One Click. I followed all the directions from this link Root Samsung Fascinate DL09 | One Click Root Fascinate 2.2 and at the end it says my phone is rooted. But its not acting like a rooted phone. I downloaded the Terminal Emulator app and put in SU and its says permission denied. How can I make sure the phone is rooted with DL09? PLEASE HELP!

Delete the version you got off that web page and use the one on my thread, they missed alot of changes that i made to the file. But before you do it make sure you pull your battery out, try su if the $ sign doesnt turn into # then you are not rooted,,,especially if you used that one click method, you should get a pop up asking to allow or deny from the superuser app. Also for good measure download something like titanium back up and see if it grants you permission.

if you are certainly not rooted, like i said try my version of one click. and if that doesnt work try the ADB method. if that doesnt work you can try CWM+root combo.

I found that the 1 click didn't install busy box properly after updating one of my Fascinates. I just used Titanium Backup to download it by hitting "Problems?" button like it recommends the first time you launch it.

I have superuser already on my phone and I cant get rid of it to reroot. When the files are pushed during the rooting there are 0 bytes transfered. if I try one click or ADB 0 bytes. But I can't erase superuser without root. Hate Dl09.

What method are you using...files should just overwrite.something else is the problwm

The only way to really rid yourself of it is to flash an image in Odin that isn't rooted.

Sorry you are trying both...do adb method but ignore 0 bytes..just continue......but before re trying do a battery pull

I did someone else's ADB method 3 times and your one click 3 times and just did your ADB method again. All with battery pulls. Everything seems to go in fine until the end when it says failure like your screen shot and the fact that I'm not rooted.

This is how i manage to upgrade mine to DL09 with out any FC loop problems.

1. Flash DI01 through ODIN. (bringing back to stock)
2. OTA the DL09 from verizon.
3. Reroot
4. Re-install all apps like ROM Manager, Titanium Backup etc.

flashing DL09 alone and my phone is acting wierd, thanks to this forum i manage to put my phone to where i want to again with the latest software.

I imagine, either you have a connection problem or its just not overwriting what is there...are you able to screen shot the command window. click on the command window hit the following ALT+print screen,,,,this will copy the window
