You need to have the correct information given to you by a knowledgeable representative.
The "damaged beyond repair" or DBR as they call it, is attached to the 'serial' number of the device they are looking up in E-Ticket.
E-Ticket pulls this information from 'account lookup'.
Account lookup may or may not even have the 'correct' serial number of the device in your hand, and could still be pulling information from another device, flagged as "DBR".
You need to have the ESN of whatever device you need services, appropriately applied to the line your using, and then have it looked up in E-Ticket (mind you this process can take upwards of 30min after an ESN change for it to update the correct info on your account).
Once the correct ESN shows up properly, have it looked up, and see what can be done to service you.
If they need to Advance Exchange the device for a replacement, as long as a TECH certifies no visible or liquid damage, they can process even a 'flagged' device. Sometimes the 'flag' is in error.
Don't let any rep tell you just because it pops up DBR, that it is, they MUST prove it visibly.
