It doesn't overheat, but it is throttled. So you're not getting your money's worth. It's crippled on purpose.
Just like the poorer screen, this is bad design.
The design and metal build is still the best in the market in my opinion and it marries perfectly with Sense. The speakers continue to be amazing. But the there just isn't enough over the M8 to demand premium flagship prices. It's just not good value for money in my opinion
I don't think the M9 is good value. In the UK it's the same price as the S6 which has a better processor, camera, amoled and higher res screen, fingerprint scanner and quick charger out the box -- all at no extra cost. It's also double the price of the arguably equal M8. These thing diminish it's value. It's also the same cost as an iPhone, so if the M9 only really offers a great metal build and smooth UI, the iPhone 6 is a good alternative (minus boomsound but plus camera, fingerprint scanner). All flagships are over priced. Is there one out there that you feel isn't overpriced?

All of these things factor when making a butting decision. Essentially, the M9 doesn't distinguish itself.
Yes I think the Note series provide more fun, utility, features, ease of use, built quality than everybody else in one whole package. I think that phone justifies it's price. Other than that, I don't think so.
P.s. not a current Note user.

So you think the S6 is a flagship worth it's cost? It cost more than the M9. Why don't you compare the cost of the S6 to to the S5? Last I remember, you could get two S5s for the price of one. Comparing the price of the latest to last years model is redundant. You are always gonna pay more for the latest. The S6/is loaded with its own issues- poor battery, lag, over heating, rattling home button, and worst of all, Touchwiz is nowhere near as polished and smooth as Sense 7.

The S6 and M9 cost the same in the UK. It has some minor issues, just like the M9 is throttled and suffers from 2 year old screen tech, not to mention a camera that can't even compete with the mid end. The Alcatel Idol 3 has a better camera (and dual front facing speakers that sound just as good) - yes Alcatel, an unknown company, but year upon year HTC serve mediocrity in the camera department

Battery Doctor controls the rate of battery recharge and helps prevent overcharging. By doing so, the heat generation rate is affected.Battery Doctor is the biggest waste of time. Android already manages apps. Force closing them actually takes more battery and more heat from the SOC and drains more battery life in the process reloading the app again when it can just stay dormant in the background and load quickly when needed. All those battery savers on the playstore do more harm than good.
The camera issue is just software related and there is update on the way that fixes it. Beyond that, the M9 , even throttled as you believe, runs fast and smooth. Sense has leaped way ahead of Touchwiz. Even many of the S6 fanboys are installing Nova because they can't take Touchwiz. You don't have to like the M9. It is great to have different phones to choose from. Move on to that Acatel and be happy. I'm sure someone would quickly trade you an Acatel for the M9. Assuming you even have a M9.

Based on real world experience over the past week. Forcing Stop for the apps that I listed in my original post reduces CPU effort and extends battery life before requiring a recharge. It significantly reduces heat creation. There are times when I choose NOT to run those apps if I expect some real work for a full day. While some may disagree with me, I stand by my opinion with regards to the original question.
The answer to the original question lies in the apps running which is an individual thing..
Yes, that elusive update that will solve everything - the one every phone has in the pipeline, "just around the corner." Sure. The ui is great and build still the best around, but as an all round device, which is what flagships need to be nowadays, it's not. The camera is not good even for 2013, and the screen is the poorest of all flagships on the market - Anandtech found it worse than the M7 in fact. I would consider an M9 but not compared to it's direct competitors, iPhone 6 and S6, which have more to offer all round. The M9 in my opinion at this point, having pushed the boat out, can only compete on price, so I predict a significant drop in the coming weeks. It can't stay competitive priced the same as these devices, which is the situation in the UK at least.
As I said a couple of times the iPhone 6, S6 and M9 are roughly the same price here in the UK (the 16gb iPhone 6 being the cheapest because it's the 16gb model).
Sense and a metal body aren't enough to save a device. It just doesn't offer enough. The other complaints you have listed for the S6 are nonsense. The battery is average but at least it has quick charging out the box. HTC cut back on everything so you don't even get quick charging out the box
You need to look at the environment. There are some crazy good mid end devices with high end capability (Asus Zenfone 2, One Plus One, Alcatel Idol 3 etc). Not to mention all the stuff in China with Xiaomi. Devices like the M9 will get easily squeezed out because they've done little over last year. They need to be on top of their game. They're not! I'm glad you enjoy your phone but to me it's not good value. I love a metal phone and smooth UI which is probably why I'll get another iPhone 6, even though I prefer Android. On the Android side, I hate to admit it but the S6 is pretty compelling

The update i speak of is already out and still needs to make it's rounds. You are entitled to your opinions, but that us all you state, unfounded biased opinions. The M9 sales are doing fine in comparison to S6 sales at this point because sales for the S6 all falling way short. I predict you will see the typical buy one get one free soon. Maybe that same competition you speak of is killing your dear S6.
