I need to get past my lock screen on my motivate 2 device

How do I get past my lock screen on my motivate 2 phone without master resetting it so it won't get Google locked?

Welcome to Android Central! You forgot your lockscreen PIN/password? Even if you had to do a factory reset, you wouldn't get locked out -- assuming this is your phone, with your Google account associated with the phone.
