Android Central Question

Someone (I do not know who) set a pattern for my lockscreen and now I can't get into my phone.

There's nothing really important on it, so I've decided just to do a factory reset, unfortunately you first must turn off the phone in order to factory reset. My phone will not let me turn it off unless I enter the pattern... which I don't know. See my problem...?

If anyone could PLEASE tell me how to fix this mess it would be appreciated.

Unfortunately unless you know the right credentials for the lockscreen, the device cannot be turned off/rebooted/system settings changed. I'm sure you can see why, for security reasons.

Since you have a Note device, however, and unless you disabled it or never registered your Samsung account on it, you should be able to unlock it by logging into your Samsung account (gotta be the same as logged into the phone) through the Find My Mobile site. Your phone must have a valid data connection for this to work.

Worst case scenario, if you log into the Samsung account through Find My Mobile or to your Google account through the Device manager, you can remotely wipe the device from both locations. Again, a valid data connection is needed.
