Please don't chew me up and spit me out, I'll be the first to admit I am technologically illiterate. I updated my phone twice, the first one was fine, but after doing the second one I would like to go back. How do I go about this? Please help I'm getting so annoyed with this! :( I'll get you any info you need to help a sister out!

Unfortunately, the only way you can revert an update is by rooting and flashing a ROM with an older OS version or flashing the factory image for an older OS version.

I see.. thank you. Ugh I missed the dictionary/vocab section.. so that was all foreign to me. I'm not sure what that entails. Would that be me clicking on Settings then Backup & Reset? I'm sure it's not that simple..

Sorry :P. I mean you would root it, then change the operating system to an earlier version. This can only be done by rooting. No, it isn't that simple. Try googling for "root evo 4g lte" or something like that, and you should get a guide for that. That's the first step. Also, be warned that it will wipe all the data on your phone.

hahah oh geez this could be bad.. I'm nervous. Will it wipe away a warranty? It's fairly new, approximately one month old, so I'm not really worried about data. Maybe photos if it's possible to back them up.

Can I ask why you want to revert specifically? In other words...what used to work but doesn't anymore?

I don't see any improvemeyep'm noticing are slight annoyances i.e. keyboard errors, error reports, redundant email notifications, aesthetics (my pretty purple skin is gone and I'm left with ugly ones, they are all masculine looking) hmm.. yep.

I would suggest factory resetting. Sometimes things get screwed up if there was a glitch in the download process of the update. Factory resetting can fix it. This happened to me with the latest update, things weren't working properly and my battery was excessively draining, but all went back to normal after the reset.

Maybe a third party keyboard (SwiftKey maybe) and launcher (Nova or Apex) could be the easiest, least invasive solution. They're available in the Play Store and don't require rooting. You also won't have to worry about voiding any warranties you may have.

I'm a newbie to most of this, as well. I appreciate all of the knowledgeable people, with their wealth of good information. In October, I made the major mistake of downloading the latest "HTC OTA Update" onto my EVO 4G LTE device. A week later, I read that I could've obtained "S-OFF rooting". Searching for a solution, I allowed "Rootandroid.com" to "free" my device. Unfortunately, they didn't tell me that they only root "S-ON". I wanted "S-OFF"; total freedom!! Now, I'm so confused!!! Is there some way to help me via remote access, to finally achieve FREEDOM?????:'(:

I have a 5" Samsung S4 Galaxy Android .... last night an Android upgrade completed on my phone. Can I have this upgrade reversed or uninstalled? Definitely not happy about all the changes & new settings on my phone.
Since when does Android make these wholesale changes without issuing a warning of these new changes?
