I never received the OTA for ICS when it came out. Ive tried manually checking (on wifi, power plugged in etc) I did the whole google framework thing, no dice.

I even went as far as doing a factory reset on my phone then checking for updates with no luck.

So is there a place I can download the update and install myself?

What if I root, will I be able to manually install ICS??

please help
thanks

You can try to see if there is a data base that has the stock ROMs. At least with my S3, I don't need to be rooted (even though I am) to install a Stock ROM. If you can't find a file list, then either contacting Verizon or rooting would be your next choice in steps.

If you choose to root, it will allow you to manually install any ROM.
Tips:
-Study the procedures carefully. Take notes, and even compare different procedures. Having more than one way to root can be helpful.
-Check and double check several things: 1. Your file list 2. Your model number matching the procedures 3. Have your notes handy, and notes as detailed as possible.

Flashing ROMs: Don't flash international ROMs. Again, take notes, and study carefully. Flash ONLY your carrier ROMs.

Ask questions if you are even slightly unsure. It is always best to wait a few days to make sure of something than to find out the hard way a mistake was made.

+1

I'd rather see a person sit and wait a few hours or a day to get the proper info/instruction than see a useless paperweight over being impatient or unsure of something.

I would say root. My thunderbolt performed a lot better after I rooted and overclocked and undervolted. It ran faster, and batter life was extended, and got rid of all of that bloatware and the old sense.
