I no longer get message notifications

I've had my phone since January 2022. I don't use the fingerprint as it never worked, but since the last update I no longer get message notifications. I have tried everything. All my settings are correct I have rebooted and even taking the SIM card out and back in. I have consumer Cellular Network. No sound, no bubble, no status dot for incoming messages.

What phone and update?

A Cache Partition wipe may help. Otherwise, a Factory Reset, about which, including full backups, we can advise if wished.
Either may help with the fingerprint sensor too.
