I now want an LG G5

Hello all. Here we are in the middle of 2016, and I've decided to step up from my G3 to the G5...I went for a visit to www.versus.com and compared the leading devices (Galaxy S7 Edge, HTC 10, Moto Z Force) against the G5. After the analysis of comparing specs against my needs, the G5 clearly came out on top. I am on the Verizon network, so I was limited to what they carry. No need for an S Pen, so the Note 7 wasn't even considered. Now that I've waited, it could be had at a better price point, as compared to the current hardware. I know build quality has been an issue, so I'll look mine over, but normally have a thin case on it. My one last question is, should I just hang in there a bit longer, to see what LG has up its sleeve with the V20, or make the plunge and start rocking the G5? Thanks!

The G5 is great, however you might want to wait if you can hold about or so..... They are quoting September so hopefully it will be early. The G5 was released in early May but that's not a good barometer. I have the G5 and if the V20 is released with some upgrades over the G5 I may upgrade.

I moved up from the G3 to the G5 in mid-June. I don't regret the decision and I also have the security update for June. I never bought it with the 'friends' in mind. The G5 is a great phone in its own right as far as I am concerned.

Agreed, the only mod I bought it for was the removable battery. Don't really consider it a mod but I'll play along.

The G5 has been a fantastic device. I bought mine the day after release. I was really just going to T-Mobile to check out the phone after all the talk about the build. The poor reviews were way overblown IMO. The 820 is a beast of course, coupled with 4 gigs of ram. Yeah man, slap a slim case on there and go.

The G5 is fine, but at this point I would absolutely hold up and wait for the V20.
