I own a nexus 6p and when i try to connect the phone to my mac book

The phone is not recognized i have enabled the debugging option in developer options and also the MTP is selected . When i try to connect the phone to windows the phone is recognized could any one help me in solving this issue .

Have you tried using a different cable to connect? Have you tried to make sure the proper drivers are installed?

I think you haven't installed 'Android File Transfer' tool
