I own an XZ3, Any questions?

Hey Folks

Just picked up my unlocked XZ3 today from CW UK, which i upgraded from an XZ2 .. So far, its gorgeous..

The screen is just wow,, its really fantastic..

Buyers and Sony fans will be pleased to know.. the Ringtone and Notify volumes.. are REALLY loud, as loud as an HTC ... and the music audio is stunning... as good as the S9+/Pixel 2 xl speakers, although not tinney, they do lack a little bass

Its very VERY fast and screen is very responsive, but SONYs "edge sense" keeps activating.. so I have to play with that abit

The camera, so far.. is impressive and clarity is an improvement on the XZ2, although I havent really tried this yet just took 3 low light photos in my room... and theyre Good..

The SDCard seems to work as it should as well, not as slow as the XZ2 R/W speeds.. although I know SONY corrected that in the Android 9 update on the XZ2..

Also, no issues or problems connecting to my Win 10 PC, drivers installed themselves and copied FLAC music across using JRiver @ 16 - 25 MB/s... No errors or drop outs.

With this phone being brand new... theres no update out of the box here in UK.. so we're on 52.0.A.3.27

Ive just unboxed it today and apart from battery life, does anyone have any questions theyd like to ask about the phone...

As the day has gone on.. Ive been messing with it, thought Ide add a bit more..

- Alot of reviews are bashing the edge sense.. but its fully customizable, and you can have the sensor on the Left or Right of the screen edge, so it doesnt get confused when your using the Volume or power button.. Its a bit gimmicky however, but like the Galaxy Edge, all apps are there rather than swiping through 5 or 6 honescreens.

- Fingerprint scanner is still quite low down, even though Ive used an XZ2 and Im used to it.. I still reach too high sometimes, but its not a deal breaker by any means.

- Double tapping the Power button to activate Google Assistant is silly and completely useless and sometimes doesnt even work but you can turn it off.

I thought Ide add a few pics ive taen today, Its rained here all day so, light wasnt that great, so theyre kinda semi low light:

All photos were taken on Fully Auto with no adjustments.. (IMO, if a camera can only take decent shots in Manual Mode by messing around for every shot and is rubbish in Auto... that is not good and defeats the objective of a point and shoot)...

All images are jpeg (as most people would view them), 17mp @ 16:9

Personally, Iam still seeing slight Overexposure due to that big wide angle SONY lense, which is not as bad as the XZ2, but its there.. Although this can be fixed by dropping the EV -.3..

However, Ide be keen to hear or read what anyone has to say about the quality of the XZ3 or any opiions you guys may have.

Ok took 2 more images today, however... and Im shocked at this...

These 2 images are on AUTO @ 19mpx .. wow, check out the difference in the lion statue detail..







In the past, the difference between 17 and 19mpx has been insignificant, in fact, 17Mpx has always been the preferred setting, but in this case.. the new BIONZ chip on the XZ3 is controlling the WB better adding some sky detail behind the Man and his Donkey.. instead of being a white out...

I think SONY are actually starting to get their cameras right... Impressive ..

What do think.. Any Thoughts

Nope, unfortunately not "out of the box", but I believe it supports RAW through 3rd party apps... Its still an issue, but other than that its a great phone.. but dont ask me why they wont support it..

While the camera app in Pie is vastly improved over the XZ2 and XZ premium under OREO.. It would be nice to see OIS too

What security patch are you on and how can I get VoLTE to work on TMobile in the U.S. I've seen on XDA that most everybody has the option but mine isn't showing up and the phone is also showing the August security patch...? Seems like something is wrong.
