I soaked my Galaxy S4 with water, did I completely kill it?

Please help-- Soaked Galaxy S4 with water

I was riding the bumper cars with my friends and I had a water bottle in my bag with my phone. It was a terrible idea. After the ride, I saw that my phone got wet and so I took the battery out immediately. I kept putting the battery back on and and turning it on, repeated it for how many times, and it never turned on. It just vibrates.

It took me about two hours to get home and submerge it in rice. Please help, what do I do..

I had a similar problem with my Galaxy S1 where it got rather wet and then trying to put the battery in resulted with a vibrate but nothing else.

It took about 2-4 weeks of leaving it in rice before I got anything more than that. One thing you should absolutely NOT do is try dry it with a hair dryer or some other kind of warm air blowing device.

Your best bet is to leave it as long as possible with the battery out. Possibly even replace the battery. But in all likelihood, the phone is stuffed as even after my S1 came back to life, it was never the same again.
