Now that the Nexus is finally out, VZ will start reducing the price of the Rezound, which is much better IMO.

Better camera, add on storage with SD cards. Sense vs Droid native? -meh- Never had a problem with sense and most people won't know the difference anyway, at least people new to android.

ICS is way over rated, and besides ICS will be available for most of the recently released DROIDS soon anyway.

Why do you feel the camera is better on the Rezound? Because the number's higher? Droid native? DROID is a brand of Verizon phones, ANDROID is the operating system. I'm hoping to see a RAZR price drop from this as well, but why you gotta hate?

How can something that has barely been released be overrated?

If you wont use the new features, then cool, but ICS is a huge improvement over the previous versions of Android in both design and functionality.

But justify your purchase however you like...

I think you are wrong there, I ran the ICS jt1134 put out on rootzwiki for a few days. It wasn't quite ready to be my daily driver, but I loved it, loved it! Can't wait to get a phone capable of running it in my hands

If you're hoping for price drops...I wouldn't hold your breath. Those MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) sheets that we've all seen floated around before the release of a device typically detail how long the price will hold (~6 months from release). So both the Rezzy and the Razr will still be $299 on contract come March. Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you're buying the phone from a reputable retailer, a VZW coporate location or on verizonwireless.com, that's what they'll be. Best Buy, Amazon and Wirelfly take a loss when they offer the devices from less. So grab it while you can if you're looking to get the Rez.

Minimum Advertised Price =/= Mimimum Sales Price, but I understand the GNex release is not necessarily a good indicator of a lower Razr/Rezound price.

Yeah, thanks for the clarification.

I got the rezound for $50 on contract from Costco wireless on bf. Although this deal is over, there may be retailers who are willing to sell the rezound at a substantial discount in the near future.

I hate to kill the dream of seeing a "rezounding" price drop, but it's not gonna drop until HTC releases the next 4G phone.
Samsung Nexus > Price drop on the Charge
Moto Razr > Price drop on Bionic
HTC Rezound > Price drop on Thunderbolt

etc etc

I'm seriously wondering how anyone could think a phone less than a month old could get a price drop officially. That is VERY wishful thinking. But, for what it's worth, on amazon they're selling it for $200 and that's probably going to be the price from now on. Not just a sale. Wirefly probably has it for cheap too.

HTC Rezound on amazon for $200. Plus, you get a $100 amazon gift card if you buy it and activate the hotspot feature

Wirefly has it for $100 for new activations

Shhh, keep your voice (font?) down. The Bionic owners might hear you.
I shudder to think of paying $300 for it, only to watch the Razr come out and make the price drop on a phone that's only 2 months old.
If HTC did this, though. I don't think I'd be too angry.

My thoughts exactly on this. The Nexus is the next-us thingy, so VZ will be pushing that hard and need to clear out some inventory of the Rezounds. Maybe wishful thinking but....

I also think it's a bit strange for someone to tell me posting in the Rezound forum about a possible price drop for the Rezound is the wrong place. Hmmmm.

And hate? No I don't hate the nexus, I just prefer the Rezound (for several reasons, already stated by others) and am excitied about the possibility of a price drop.

Sounds like someone got burned and they're feeling bad about it.

No, that's not how it works. A manufacturer forces the price on their previous product to go down when they release an update/upgrade of the same type of product. This ensures that early adopters will pay the premium price, and that thrifty consumers can still buy their product now that it's at a lower price point.
A Samsung phone isn't going to cause an HTC or Motorola phone to drop in price, just as a new Honda won't make a Toyota go down in price, even if they're being sold at the same dealer. See where I'm going with this?

Verizon's (apparent) personal stake is in Motorola and the Droid line. They push those products hard. There's no push for the Nexus, just as their was no push for the Rezound, Breakout, Stratosphere, etc. Their meat & potatoes come from the 2-year contracts you sign that pump about $1,000 from your pocket to theirs in only a year.

Ha! Moto might be doing it again, this time to Droid Razr buyers...can you say Droid Razr Maxx? Isn't that kind of a tough way to build brand loyalty?

Supposedly, the only difference is going to be a bigger, still built-in, battery. I expect the prices to remain at $300, but you now have the option of trading off the slim size for a bigger battery at a slightly less slim size.
