The best buy where I live now finally put their demo units out and I Touched it!!!. It sucks that its not a running unit but oh well?.less than a week away. I know this thread is pointless, lol, but who cares?i havent been this happy for a phone since?.ever..an i got the pre, hero an instinct on day one

Got a chance to handle a bestbuy demo too. Its very solid and has little wieght to it. Not heavy, but you definitely know you are holding a premium device as oppose to the Incredible which felt very toy like.

yea, i saw the incredible a few weeks back but the evo is nicer….i even sold my ipod touch today just so i dont have to come out of pocket the other $150 bc i pre ordered it.lol..the hero was my first android phone and I bought an ipod to play games on but now…its all evo

Im near ft knox and I was pleasantly suprised when I found out that you could pre order at best buy..I moved from philly an figured that in an area like this I would be sol but i cant wait til friday…my appt is at 11am

I got to pick up the demo unit at my local Radio Shack - wish it were a functional unit, but it was good to get a sense of the weight and the kickstand. Excited for Friday!

I got to mess with a demo unit from RS also and was disapointed with placement of kickstand.... It will be very easy to tip over!!!!!! Not very good balance where it's located.

On a more seroius note, radio shack and best buy at my area also showing them off, bb has them at the main entrance so the push is gonna be big (hopefully)

I just handled the demo at BBY too. I'm am even more excited now. It did have a lil heft to it and it was actually bigger than I thought but I loooooooved it. Also it made the incredible look like a kids toy. Seriously.

I'm guessing that the non-functioning demo units are lighter than the real thing. They probably don't have a battery and may not have all of the internal componants. Anyone know if this is the case?

They usually put weight inside them to mimic the weight of the device

There is definitely some kind of weight inside of the non functioning demo units. I dont know if it is exactly the weight that the phone is going to be but there is definitely a decent amount of weight to it.
