So I have a love-hate relationship with gestures for navigation purposes. I love three-button navigation. I've tried gestures on other phones with little to no success but it has always been a hurdle that I've wanted to climb!

This morning, when I saw Flossy Carter's setup with his Pixel 5 and how it looked with gestures enabled, I decided to try gestures again. Whoah! My phone suddenly feels faster and it almost seems like gestures are simpler on the Pixel 5 than they were on my S10. Is that possible?

I'm going to give gestures a go for a while and see what happens! So far, so good!

Ever since gestures launched i enabled it took a couple of days to get used to it and never looked back.

I tried gestures on my Moto Z4 a few years ago and switched right back to 3 button. I've been using gestures on my Pixel 4XL ever since buying it and am so used to it now my hands get confused with a phone with 3 button nav.

I can understand your fingers getting confused with a new layout! Mine are like that too!

Gestures work great on devices that have decent specs. But they're not so great on weaker devices -- they can be annoyingly sluggish on my Lenovo Tab M8 FHD.

Ahh ...so buttons would be preferable ?

I get confused with the buttons. My husband uses them. When I use his phone I have to stop and think about what I am doing. The gestures just flow. But I can imagine that slower devices probably should keep the buttons.

I've loved gesture navigation ever since the days of the BlackBerry Z10. It just feels so fluid navigating the OS.

I used to be a big proponent of using the three button navbar but when I bought the pixel 4 XL I started using gestures and haven't looked back since.

I feel like the Pixel experience is way more fluid (and that's saying something, because it was fluid before too!) when gestures are enabled.
