I want to keep this phone, but...need help with bluetooth audio and texting

I have come back to Android after many years on Windows Phone. I had an original Moto Droid and liked that, then I really liked the design of Windows Phone and the Live Tiles, so moved to that. I was tempted to just move right to a 950XL, but thought I'd try the 6P out and see the state of android 6 and Google's Project Fi.

I'm mostly liking my experience, but there are a few things that are absolutely killing any joy I'm getting with this phone/OS. The following worked out of the box on Windows Phone, so not seeing them in stock android (v6) is disheartening and I can't figure out a way to make it work for me.

1- When playing audio over BT in my car, using Pandora, the song title and artist do not display. These did display when using Pandora on WP.
2- When playing audio over BT in my car, using Pandora, pressing the "Next track" button on my steering wheel doesn't make Pandora skip to the next track. This did cause it to skip to the next track on WP.
3- Text (sms) messages are not automatically read over BT. With WP, when you got a text the phone would "call" the car's BT system and ask if you wanted it to read the text to you, and you'd reply by voice to read it or to ignore it. This was so seamless and worked with no configuration needed.
4- Navigation voice over BT - same as issue 3. When using navigation and it needed to give you the next direction, it would automatically give the direction over BT, even if the radio was off. If radio or media was playing, it paused them.

I found a few apps that claim they can do #3, but it's not automatic and just reads them all, doesn't ask, etc...

Is there any way to do these things in android? #3 is the one that is really, really making me consider sending my 6P back and getting the 950XL. Or does anyone know if the non-stock phones, like the LG V10 or the Galaxy series might have these features?

It might be your car? It does all those things you want it to do with my truck (2016 Tacoma)

Have you updated your car's bluetooth software/firmware to the most recent version?

Sounds like you might be driving a Ford. Other than that, you may need to adjust some accessibility options.

After rebooting the phone it is now displaying the song info and responding to the audio controls.

But, there is no attempt to read me SMS messages that come in. They just make the normal notification sound (not over BT, just from the phone's speaker) and it ends there. They really need to make the "OK Google" service work like it does on WinPhone...it's so smooth and works brilliantly.
