I got ~100gb and ~1.5 gb RAM (disk partition(dual booting)). Haven't necessarily tested build time because I usually let it run while I'm asleep. I can't believe you devs watch the whole thing. Lol soooo much code..

when instyalling the JDk via get-install i seee this
\
Code:
root@ubuntu:~# apt-get install sun-java6-jdk sun-java6-jre
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package sun-java6-jdk is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package sun-java6-jdk has no installation candidate

Make sure you have it set for dual core processing, I don't think the free vmware lets you use more than dual, but by defaultits set for single core

As long as you installed the right repo, go into synaptic package manager and do a search for it and install it there.

repo?
all i did was give myself root acess ebter "apt-cache search jdk" and then "apt-get install sun-java6-jdk sun-java6-jre" thats what gives me the rror

I think you may need to find a ppa. That's how I always do it. Try the one in Jerry's post in the Building your own ROM thread.

fixed with

Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-jdk7-installer

jerry you can help me here... all your lines that have to do with jdk 6 dont work no more because of oracle closing the repository for openjdk and now i get this

Code:
root@ubuntu:~# sudo apt-get install git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool

Reading state information... Done
gnupg is already the newest version.
zip is already the newest version.

what do i do now

I don't know if java7 will work, you need to use Sun's java6 afaik.

Google is your friend here. Don't make me pull out lmgtfy, if you want to dev, you gotta do some research! ;)

google is my friend... java isnt i even used java 6update31.bin installed via making a new floder cslled programs CDing into it installing the java6 repo installing java6 jdk and running your first code l9je in the thred nanda

Here's something to watch for, allot of your posts have misspelling and extra letters. Spelling is deadly important in coding one misspell or typo or misplaced word or punctuation will kill your code or worse it will run to that error then..... brick.
