My captivate is my main phone and I have the aria to play with.

I've rooted the captivate but went baxk to stock to wait for an update. Lol

If you just have the phone to play around with it, then yes, you should root it and have fun with it. You won't find a bunch of ROMs to flash, but you could use it to give Cyanogenmod a try.

Be Careful!!

If you root that Aria and put CM6 on it, you might just start liking it better than your newly-stocked Captivate!

Definitely root the thing - no downside to doing it.

Unrevoked has a MAC version, and after you root, everything is just drag and drop. I don't think you have to do the prep work for Unrevoked on MAC that you do on Windows (installing HBOOT drivers), but I'm not sure. Here's a link at XDA:

Have you tried the usual stuff (reinstall, reboot, etc)? If so, I'm not sure what's wrong.

Yea i tried then went to post in the linked thread you posted for me and on the last few pages it looks likr there were some issues.

I think they just released a new unrevoked version, so they may have some MAC issues. Never heard of problems before.

You might want to just borrow a friends computer. You only need to do it once, and it takes about 15 minutes.

I tried to download it again rebooted the computer and it still failed.

I didnt really see anything specific in reguards to that new version they posted, maybe ill get to a pc one of these days. Lol

So for now i will just pimp out my Captivate and use the Aria as a spare. ;-)
