I went to trade in for a Nexus and got slapped in the face!

idiotekniques brings up a good point about the photos/videos. Samples I've seen in reviews really seem to give the 'Win' to Rezound.

This complaining about the screen being pentile has to stop too. I have not seen a single review that didn't say the screen was beautiful. Just because its pentile does not mean its like Motorola's pentile screens. Aren't the other AMOLED's pentile also?

I don't want people to stop complaining about the use of pentile screens above 300ppi. It's actually a wonderful screening tool cuz it allows me to quickly pass over posts, so I can pass on to read something less comical. My only issue w/ amoled is that the oversaturated colors makes everything have a cartoonish appearance. Something about that just turns me off to it. It's not so noticeable in most vids I.watched but it impacts just about evekrything else.

Lol, fair enough. I hadn't thought of it that way. The oversaturation can be dealt with for the most part with adjustments in voodoo.

Oh great, just when I thought I would pass on the GN, now I've gotta go visit the store a 3rd time and slap Voodoo on a demo unit
to see what some adjustment can do. That's good 411, I didn't know that was an option. And the search continues...

The rooted/S-off Rezound of the futurewill be the real deal breaker for most the enthusiasts out there in giving up on the Nexus all together.

All of my customers/colleagues have been saying the rezound is getting as much attention from customers at first glance as the GNex. The two are rubbing elbows when it comes to user experience, but for people who know about what issues can happen/look like with phones it seems the rezound is the launch worthy device.

Kudos to HTC for releasing the most release friendly high end device on Verizon this Q4.

Needs to be rooted I think. May need a compatible kernel, but I'm not sure on that one.

All LTE phones on Verizon allow voice and data simultaneously even when on 3g.

Uh, no they don't. Only the Thunderbolt and Rezound do. Go look at the FCC filings.

Now all of Verizon's 4G phones DO have voice and data simultaneously on 4G.

looking at the rezound vs nexus thread the only thing i can say is that we seem to have a lot less problems. seems like there are many many bugs in ICS on the nexus and for the first time in my life im excited to wait for the software to be right

When you get it though it won't be without issues. Htc messed up with the Thunderbolt and with the incredible.
Bottom line is all phones have issues. Heck I had five dincs before they realized it was a bad battery and not a bad phone.

Yeah that last update on the Inc totally screwed the phone.

Anyway I'm just excited to hear that I'll have voice and data with the Zound. I almost never talk to anyone, but there have been more than a few times I wished I had it or could have used it. I never got any real use out of chrome to phone, so maybe this will make up for that.

As the original poster, I thought it only fair that I post an update. I went to my Verizon store again. Now, they have the Nexus in a case and the case is tethered down. They keep you from taking the phone out of the case by attaching a strap to the side of the phone as well. None of the other phones in the vicinity were in cases. Not sure what that says.

Anyway, it felt a lot better in the case. You couldn't feel the phone plastic as much and the case material was nice. If this had been my first experience with the Nexus, we would have gotten off to a better start. The screen was still less vibrant and less responsive to me but the overall package was a lot more appealing.

I am still inside my trade in period but I decided to stick with the Rezound. I can't get over it's bright sharp screen and awesome camera.

I can NOW see the appeal of the Nexus. Nice phone. Just not for me.

I never even tried using data while on a voicecall till I got this phone.

Now that I know that I can, I'm always looking stuff up while on the phone with the fiance. If she only knew :)
