So I love my black 6p but all that was left to pre-order was the silver.. I guess I'm ready for a new look and my case will probably cover up the back anyway... Man it looks like an iPhone though lol...I guess I'm wondering why the silver hasn't sold out yet....?

First, black is the more common color than the Silver/White, which is why most of the time black color phone will be sold out first.

Second, blue color is the unique and limited color almong the other two color, so of course it will be sold faster than the other two color.

I recommend anyone looking for Black or Blue to try it out again by end of this month or early next month. Probably it will have stock by that time.

I'd also add that the black has a black front, which most people seem to prefer. The silver has a white front and I guess most people don't like that. This is especially apparent in the videos that mention the blue Pixels. Most videos said they would prefer a black front.

I remember when people were clamoring for a white iPhone. That seems so long ago now.

I have done the wait list thing in the past and have *never* received a notification email. If you are waiting for a specific device to become available, make it a point to check the Google store several times per day.

I deliberately ordered the silver/white Pixel XL within 15 minutes of go-live, having mostly bought black phones in the past. My Nexus 6 was grey and my current 6P is silver/aluminum however it has a totally black face (the areas above and below the screen).

Having had some time to re-think my decision, I am not sure I will like the white face on the Pixel XL and hoping I did not make a mistake by going with this color. If I wasn't so anxious to receive the new toy, I might even cancel the silver/white and order a black one, but that would probably add a month (at least) to my October 26-28 delivery date.

Silver is a good choice. My 6P is silver and my XL on order is silver. Black phones while nice are ubiquitous. Back in the day they were all black or charcoal/grey. The silver jumps out of the pack.

Maybe you have to change your email spam filters? Whitelist googlestore-noreply@google.com as I have received a waitlist notification from them.

I've gone back and forth over the last 5 years or so (mostly with Samsung phones). Used to love the black, then got 3 white ones in a row (GS4, GS5, GN4). then I moved back to black with the Note 5 and Note 7 (doh).

I ordered the Silver/White Pixel XL. It looked more interesting to me - or maybe I just was bored with black again

I placed and order for the black xl the minute it went live. After a couple hours of debating I decided I was tired of black phones and ordered the silver and cancelled the black. My wife waited to decide she wanted silver until the next day and it was sold out but black was still an option. She got on the wait list and received an email a few days later and ordered the silver (delivery Nov 28-29th). Then black went out of stock, and now everything is lol. The wait list definitely works though

I was going to go with silver, but cancelled my order after remembering that I read that the Daydream VR headset tends to get light coming into it from outside sources and that the white/silver model is more affected by the outside light. When I reorder, I will choose black.

Yeah, I read that also and it does concern me. However, I don't know that I will ever get very deep into the whole VR thing...

I agree... I'll probably end up selling it. I'm liking the silver idea and I don't even have it yet... My case will end up covering the back anyway so I'm really only looking at the white front which to me will be a nice change.

Yes. I think Russell Holly said that. This would be true most in brighter environments though. If you are in a dim room it won't be an issue.
