I will **never*** buy another Samsung

Seriously, these companies have been playing round robin with us for months. "It's his fault", "No it's her fault", "No it's their fault", "No it's SQUIRREL.....his fault"

Actually the LG whatchamacallit got Froyo and it didn't have "Droid" branding. Am I correct? I really can't remember, but in know there was news about it.

sorry for the double post

The VORTEX!!!!:D that was not competition for a speak and spell let alone any highend phone. there was no threat to updating it 3.2" lcd screen processor @600mhz entry level smartphone at best

its all about their branding, fascinate was the only phone left out of the Droid Branding. Then the thunderbolt comes along first 4g, and now they are getting droid Charge, they delay the fascinate, and they can push you either to their Droid line or to the TB. I'm sure its even more complicated than that

If the droid charge gets much better software support from vzw, it would make it a great phone (assuming the same hardware quality as the fascinate) and I would definitely consider getting it. but it would also piss me off to think that they are holding back the fascinate with crappy software support and by putting bing on it.

I saw you got the tbolt, droidxcon, how's it going for you? I got an offer from vzw to get the tbolt for $150... I wasn't tempted by the tbolt when it first came out, but now for $150... that is very tempting. but I almost feel as tho it's a side-grade to the fascinate, except it has pretty decent software support and obviously, 4G.

LG Ally (even lower end) phone got it earlier this year too.

I'm holding out hope Verizon might change and give us GB after Froyo in a more timely manner given that there's a GB leak for a Galaxy S phone with very different hardware (keyboard and different version of TW), but I'm probably just being overly optimistic.

It actually MIGHT be in their best interest to light a fire under their approval process for updates though. Considering how many people are complaining and getting their high end phones like the TB with early renewals it's got to be costing them some money in CS reps and hardware.
