I won't buy the Nexus 2015 if _____________

I won't buy the LG version if: M battery optimization didn't live up to the hype AND
it has less than 3000 mAh

I won't buy the Hauwei version if: same as above, but with 3500 mAh

point is, if battery optimization finally becomes a reality, mAh isn't as important. sometimes there's no replacement for raw power, and of M doesn't have the optimization that it's promising, a larger battery will be needed

USB-C 2.0 and only 32 GB would also be disappointing, but not necessarily a deal breaker. same with front speakers and quick charge. I expect both, but if they pull the rug out, I'd be disappointed.

What's the benefit of USB-C 3.0 vs. USB-C 2.0?

Are you transferring data via usb often from your smartphone or is their another benefit I'm not aware of?

that'll be interesting to see. what if it's on par, what would you do then?
Ohhh... tough question! On the one hand there's the 808 for much smoother UI animations (a major annoyance on my Moto X Play), stereo speakers instead of mono, slightly faster OS updates and a fingerprint scanner. On the other there's larger bezels, no SD card support and (potentially much) shorter battery life.

USB Type-C is simultaneously both a pro (reversible, faster if it's 3.0) and a con (renders my large micro USB cable collection redundant).

@assasin droid - don't you mean you won't buy one if it lacks an SD card slot? Otherwise you're the first person I've ever come across to boycott a device because it has that functionality. If that is indeed the case, may I ask why?

I won't boycott a device for solely that reason, but it is a detraction for me to include in. My NVIDIA Shield Tablet has the slot, don't use it, don't like it - wish it wasn't there. My next phone Moto Pure will have it, not going to use it, don't like it, etc. There is an opportunity cost that I don't appreciate to having it there. Of course, I get that many people love that feature and want it and that's cool. I'm just not one of them.

With a 64 GB Moto XPE costing $499.99- 524.99 (depending on customization), I wonder how a 64 GB Huawei Nexus will be priced, given it's full metal unibody, and fingerprint scanner. Would these additions / features be offset by Moto's suite of apps vs. pure stock, in terms of price?

I'm buying the Nexus LG 5 2015... unless:

1. They only offer a 16GB version... I need at least 32GB.
2. LG does not deliver a 5.2" screen... any larger and I might just buy the new Moto X 2015 Pure Edition.

Note: I laugh at any that say anything about the camera... I have lived with many substandard cameras, and even a couple that said they were the best at that time. Most every new device has a great camera right now, but I'm not sure I have ever heard of a great camera in a new Nexus device... so I'm not expecting a great camera.

I doubt or ... I think it'll be around $550 which sounds fair, but those software optimizations won't affect price IMO

what will however, is how ambitious Google is to get Nexus phones or there so they can clean up on the back end with Fi. maybe not this year, but eventually that'll be a huge deal

Thanks. This stuff can get confusing. Will this allow for faster charging if it's 3.0?

the note 3 had USB 3 (micro). did a few comparisons (charging the phone from different % points). no difference.
could care less about the data transfer speed increase so as long as the connector is type C because it's reversible. that will add up to at least a couple/3x a day that I won't hate life because I put the cable in backwards.

yeah I'm not sure I'd laugh at anybody considering your truly has made more than a few bone headed "demands" but I tend to agree. every phone fills a niche, and camera just isn't what Nexus is. will it be good enough? probably. but anybody expecting G4/S6 quality is gonna be disappointed.

I'm just as guilty. for whatever reason, I hoped for a 3300 in the LG and 3800 in the Hauwei. they've never gone over the top, so in hindsight, expecting things to suddenly change was a pipe dream.

Nexus is pure Android, latest OS, no bloatware ... that's what it's always been, and I suspect until Fi gains momentum and they go mainstream, that's what it will be for the foreseeable future.

BTW the reason I thought maybe things might be a little different this year was cause of Fi. when I realized they were launching 2 phones I thought maybe we'd see a change I'm philosophy.

Lack of wireless charging on the Huawei could be a sticking point for me. I have charging pucks at home, the office and in the car. Would like to keep utilizing them.

The nexus 5 doesn't have qhd and a soc better than 808/810 and front facing speakers

I won't buy the Nexus 5 2015 if it doesn't last a full day.

I won't buy the Nexus 6 2015 if it doesn't last a full day and a half.

I won't buy the Nexus 2015 if my wife catches me ordering it. If she doesn't catch me, it's fair game lol

If the rumors are correct, I will be hanging on to my Nexus 6.

Google subsidized the Nexus 4 and 5 and Moto is subsidizing the Moto X lineup.

Just curios if this was ever proven? I can understand if Google was subsidizing the Nexus 4 and 5, but why would Motorola subsidize anything? Not trying to call you out, but I was just curious.

I just ordered the Moto Style, so I am not thinking real seriously about either Nexus, but this is a good topic for discussion.

Personally, I won't buy it if it doesn't support all 4 major carriers. My last two phones, the Nexus 6 and Motorola Style have had this feature and I've seen the practical benefits and convenience.

Second reason not to buy would be if Sprint doesn't offer it.

If I really want the phone badly, it's not a deal breaker, but if Sprint carries it, I could essentially pay off my old device for $300 and start a new Easy Pay installment plan.

Any installment plan at 0% interest can really be a nice thing if you understand the terms and pay your bills on time.

If it has no (am)oled screen, and a battery that is smaller then 2800 mhA
