Is it possible to remove text beneath icons, I don't really need it and would prefer a cleaner look with the new launcher.

You can with LauncherPro. Not sure about Gingerbread.

It is possible with LauncherPro and ADW launcher. What launcher are you using?

I'm using the gingerbread launcher in thunderom 1.4.
