iconx earbuds with pixel

Yesterday I picked up the Samsung iconx ear buds, downloaded the Samsung gear so and iconx plugin, they are great, very happy with audio quality as well as feel. Issue though, I cannot pause/play music by tapping them or skip songs. Also they are supposed to disconnect and stop any audio when removed from my ears but they keep on playing. Anyone else have these issues? Tips?
