ICS End of Aug?

Yah, it's not a very good sign. Makes you wonder if we'll get the Desire HD treatment at the last minute?

Or looking at the positive; they release it to Verizon at the end of August, an RUU then leaks, meanwhile Verizon takes their own sweet time looking it over then releases it late Sept or beginning of Oct...

Well HTC via FB has been answering people's questions about ICS for TBolt amongst other phones.
They are still confirming that it will be released.

Hoping this. HTC says it will be ready by end of month so I'm guessing that's when they'll give it to Verizon and leak the ruu which is good enough for most of us.

Ha, I know what you mean! Once you get a taste of it, it's hard to go back to slower speeds. I even notice a big difference just in web browsing. Considering the Thunderbolt radio setup is quite a bit different than the Bionic, I'd guess they won't be able to get LTE working until a Thunderbolt ICS RIL is available (leaked or when ICS is officially released).

Yes, the rom is way too raw for me so far. I don'tblike to go through the trouble of installing and setting up a rom until it is fully functional. Still, cracking partnof the ril for this phone was a great accomplishment and I give Jester lots of credit.

I loaded up the Liquid-ICS ROM with working 3G, and I just have to say to all the casuals who don't know a clue about the underworkings of a computer system, you're really screwing the pooch by not wanting to upgrade to 4.0


The difference from Thundershed 1.6 to Liquid ICS MR2.6 Beta was HUGE. We're talking such a big improvement that the thought of "is this really the same old Thunderbolt?" went through my mind. I was blown away by ICS.


Now granted I have experienced ICS before on a Galaxy Nexus that I picked up for all of a week before I became disgusted with the shoddy Pentile screen and returned it, but damn ICS breathes a LOT of new life into this Thunderbolt and once we get an official release with all the bugs kinked out, and a proper RIL with 4G, I won't see a need to upgrade for at least another year or two.


So please, don't hate on a version upgrade that you don't even fully comprehend or more importantly, appreciate. For a hardcore user like myself the difference is night and day. I'd hate to see a device I own be held back because of common user opinion that it "doesn't matter."

If you're rooted, and don't demand 4G all the time, go backup your ROM and install Liquid ICS. You won't regret it. And if you are really patient, you will have excellent things awaiting you by the end of this month.
